  • NSS Preview for 11/1/14 - LM Drivers Racing 3-Wheel Bikes at Intermission

POINT TITLES TO BE DECIDED AT NEW SMYRNA SPEEDWAY ON AMERICAN AUTO NIGHT AT
    NEW SMYRNA SPEEDWAY

Class champions will be crowned for the 2014 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series
at New Smyrna Speedway Saturday night as the track hosts the final week of the
regular racing season before returning for the Florida Governor's Cup weekend
    November 21-23
This week's action is being sponsored by American Auto Tires & Service of New
Smyrna Beach and will feature the first-ever Three-Wheel Bicycle race at
intermission. Five of the top drivers at New Smyrna will compete for
"bragging rights." The field will include multi-time track champion David
Rogers of Orlando, Current Open Modified track titlist Jerry "The Hammer"
Symons of New Smyrna Beach, two-time Brighthouse Series champion Tim Russell
of Longwood, veteran campaigner and former track champion Rich Clouser of
Deland and up-and-coming New Smyrna youngster Zach Jarrell, a winner in the
Pro Late Models already this year.
American Auto Tires & Service is located at 1523 South Dixie Freeway in New
Smyrna Beach and has been serving the community for 25 years. They offer
tires for all makes of cars, tire repairs, oil changes, lubrication, batteries
and electrical service, brake service, alignment, plus major and minor engine
and transmission repair. They are also RV repair specialists and provide
in-house financing so that major car repairs don't make an immediate huge dent
in your checking or savings account. Also, thanks to American Auto Tires &
Service, the first 200 kids with a paying adult receive a free hot dog kids
    meal.
Several drivers just have to start their respective feature races Saturday
night to claim point championships. Donny Williams (Sportsman), Jarrett Korpi
(E-Modified), Shannon Kelly (Super Stock) and Jimmy "Spaceman" Barron
(Strictly Stock) will take home titles just by showing up this week.
In the Pro Late Model class, Australian rookie sensation Will Carroll just has
to have a decent night to claim the championship after this week's 50-lap run
as he has a reasonably comfortable 25 point advantage over second place Ricky
Anderson. The Mini Stock class is another story though as Pat Wells has only
a six point edge over former champion David Russell going into action this
week. Wells is hoping to claim his first track championship.
Pit gates open Saturday afternoon at 2 pm with division practice from 4-6 pm
(Pro Late Models only from 4-5 pm). Grandstand gates open at 6 pm with
qualifying for the Pro Late Models at 6:15 pm. Racing starts at 7:30 pm with
a 25-lap feature for the Mini Stocks followed by the 50-lap run for the Pro
Late Models and 25 laps for the Super Stocks. Following the American Auto
Three-Wheel Bike race at intermission, the E-Modifieds will run their 25-lap
season finale with the Sportsman following for another 25 laps. The evening
wraps up with a 20-lap run for the Strictly Stocks.
Adult admission is $15 with all seniors (65+) and military members with valid
ID being admitted for $13. Kids 11 and under are free. Remember that the
first 200 kids with a paying adult receive a free hot dog kids meal.
