Saturday Night October 18th Hendry County Motorsports Park presents the United Dirt Late Model Challenge Series All Star Showdown, 50 Laps for $5,000 to Win!

I had some enjoyable visits at Hendry County (called Sugarland for a couple of years). The announcer, who I chatted with a few times, used the name Scooby Doo, and one of the fan favorites was called out as "Downtown Jesse Brown". I think the promoter, at the time ,was Pete Scalzo. Crowds weren't big but the shows were fun. A nice sprint show one night drew a decent field. All this before the more recent improvements. I've often wondered if they cleaned up the junk yard full of cars and mobile homes, that you passed on the entrance road?

ThunderCross was running right up the road a bit at that time. Good memories.
