  • Osw Really

Thanks,to the company standing up and putting the shown on for the lower classes at 50 laps 300 to win, nothing but class from those folks!

    That,being said....

Come on OSW 12 for grandstands 30.00 for pits.Really shows OSW cares less but to toss the phrase come racers show your support is BS.I paid 12 for VSP and got a whole lot this past weekend, you would think it would be 5 bucks and 20 for back pits...

Expect anyone to show is a joke. This is what pisses me off.No real effort.

I think it is all how you look at it.

For a fan, or possibly a racer, it is your prerogative to find "the best deal" on a Saturday night--and head there.

But this deal is more like a club. Their other venue became problematic, so they moved the show to Bithlo. This no doubt involves rent money to Speedworld whether they break even or not.

As mentioned, thanks to Clean Cut Tree Service of Melbourne for their support.

The question is...do you want to be part of their deal? And if enough folks do, and enough money comes in, then it will grow into something larger with higher end classes.

Could be like a snowball rolling downhill, could be dust in the wind. Time will tell, but it is better than grass growing through the asphalt, and better than sitting at the house for the competitors.

It is if there are no cars to watch.
Entry level & support class drivers are support class drivers for a reason.
$90 for a driver, wife, crew member,is not realistic for support divisions, especialy when you are not going to pay back past 5th place.

On the other hand, lower the pit admission to $20 and you may have a decent turnout and something to build on.

Anybody know what the teams were paying when they were bombing around in a field?

I was under the impression that it was about the same, and they were good with it.

It was $20 last year and $30 for the only race we had this year. We've been paying $30 at speedworld all it closed. Yes, it's cheaper at new Smyrna but the saved $10 or $20 goes in the tank to get there. 6 one way half dozen the other. Most of us are just happy to have places to race.
Hope to see some of you tonight.

Anyone who did not go to the race tonight has no opinion.........STFU!

Before you even start! You are part of the problem......not the solution.

Kat (or anyone else...) any objective responses from the stands on how the show went?

Racers--any objective responses from the pits on how the officiatin' & payout went?

                    Both groups--would you return soon?

I said I wasn't going to go but decide to give them one more chance big mistake. 3 super stocks showed up 2 broke down leaveing 1 super stock 18 v6/v8 and 15 4 cylinders. the guy that sponsored the race drove like a idiot crashing into cars causeing a wreck with one of osw local racer about 10 laps in I guess when you put the money up that means you can do what ever you want on the track. I have never seen such a circus in my life no EMT at the track. so I am woundering if they have insurance at the track. what happens if someone gets hurt. never again waste of time and money. go ahead and bash me I was there were you.?

                        heavy sigh...

Was hoping it was a good atmosphere with family and so forth. Oh well.

But, seems like it is silly to say "never again"--we both will probably be back again if things change.

Meanwhile, we have Auburndale and St Pete (hold the cheering, please).

We enjoyed watching the guys race, and have a good time. They put on a great show. Yes. Three supers showed, but those with bigger balls in the strictly class ran with them to make it worth watching.

It was great racing. Disheartening to see the promotor act like an idiot, but I think once he realized no one thought he was funny, he stopped. Sadly it was too late for a few strictly stock drivers and one lost his car.

If there is a next time, I will go. I will pay my 12 bucks, and bring more ppl with me as the bathrooms weren't half bad. It was nice to see some ppl.

Really, these guys put their heart in this. I think it was a great turnout of Cara for a first attempt. If Skinner wants a second, he better apologize, as no one is gonna wanna run with him.

Now. Stands... It was the normal few ppl.... More promo is needed.

                            Thx, Kat!

Clearly some of this is in how one looks at it.

A die hard sprint car fan had a decent time!
