  • CCS for 2015

I read on several Facebook posts and heard it was in the Citrus County Chronicle today that CCS will be under new management for the 2015 Season.
Yay..... Don't care who, don't care how and I know why..... Lol...
Hope the new promoter takes the "ball" and runs with it.
I'm sure he/she will have us local racers full support as long as they're fair, consistent and are able to speak to people intelligently.

Here is the post from the CCS Classified board

Mike Reed ( Reed Racing Inc.)and Hal Porter (Citrus County Fair Board) have agreed in principle to sale the track lease to Martin Enterprises. The sub-lease owned by Gary LaPlant will be voided per a performance clause in his lease. The new lease signing will happen sometime in February when the current lease cycle ends. Hopefully the Speedway can move forward and become the great little track it has always been.

It's like starting in the rear, you can only go forward.
I surely do look forward to it...
          We shall see...
I think if someone gets in there with even a little sense it will come back and we'll all be back....

I never really had a problem with Gary. And I don't think he meant to piss all of you off. I'm sure he had good intentions on taking over the track. He loves racing as much as the next guy. He obviously bit off more than he could chew and is realizing it now. Who hasn't said that they could do a better job than the other guy. We all have. But it's not that easy is it Gary. I wish his family well and hope to see him out to the tracks soon. Gary is a good guy just not a track owner. I truly hope the track gets back on its feet. Lord knows being down here in ft Myers where our track has run its coarse sucks. But maybe people should just let it be. Good guy sucky owner. My opinion. Stuart VanDevender #36

There should be a standing rule that if you ruin one race track, you shouldn't be aloud to try again. I hope the new guy has some common sense and don't act like a total moron. The cars will be back in droves once the new guys proves that he is willing to make things right.

Gary is the "Obama" of Florida Short track racing.

Looking at the CCS FB page this may have just been a rumor started by someone to get a rise out of people.

So you're saying Gary is African American? What's wrong with that?

Not saying that Gary wasn't at fault, but I honestly don't think this track is gonna pull in droves of cars. I think you'd be lucky to get a 10-15% increase. I think people are failing to see the Showtime reopening had a lot to do with the downfall of Citrus. Everyone in the Tampa area and south are gonna keep going to Desoto and Showtime. Yoho and Cope are doing everything right at the moment. I know myself can't justify driving an hour and a half up to Citrus when I've got Showtime 25 minutes from me and Desoto 45 minutes, both of which pay better and cost me less to go to. Unless someone does something drastic or the state decides to turn Showtime into a parking lot or pond, I don't see Citrus regaining the strength it had.

I don't know about LaPlant but is Obama? He's 1/2 white.
If you are 1/2 white, why aren't you considered white rather than African?
I know of some totally white folks from South Africa that are African Americans.
The old term used to be mulatto, which Obama actually is. This is not a racist term, but I guess it's not used anymore for some reason.

                        OK, back on topic!

This thread has been off topic for a while now. If the President is indeed 1/2 white ( he isn't ) and half African American, then he can be either white or black couldn't he?

They shouldn't be " aloud " or even silently.
