People have been dropping their insurance for decades because of the rising costs, it's nothing new.The rates have been increasing wildly every year. Every Year. Long before the Affordable Health Care Act was even implemented. So increases in health insurance don't have anything to do with the Affordable Care Act, they're all about greed and opportunists.Originally posted by kendo View PostIf income is below $10,150, no penalty is owed...those making under $19,600 pay a flat $95 penalty.I will assume no one in that tax bracket is racing for a hobby.
I know many who are having to drop health insurance due to the continued increase in rates. One can not afford health insurance but Obama thinks one can afford the fine for not having it ?...Curious as to how you think not being able to afford 800-1200/month for health ins is self inflicted ?
Not everyone is being charged 800-1200/month, as you probably know, the amount paid is based on income per household.
The penalty for not signing up, when you know there's a penalty for not signing up, is what we call self inflicted.

Yep,
Sportsman, er, nationwide racing...
Of course, what makes for great racing is power coming OFF the turn, and this change hurts that.
Anything but short tracks.
One bandaid after another, and seeming befuddlement at the lack of results.
Oh well, who knows, it may be better, and I will surely be watching and/or napping on Sundays...

FWIW, my buddy Brian is a body fabricator for a bunch of teams and was present at the test at Michigan where they tested all of this... He said this was the package that the drivers all suggested because it was easier for them to set up passes...
In my opinion, removing power isn't the answer, it's just going to cause guys to push the limits even more than they have been trying to find that extra 5 horsepower and make it even more expensive which is the opposite of their ideas... I think they should have left the engines alone, taken away some of the aero of from the front and rear of the cars, take away bump stops and disallow coilbind setups and let some air get under those cars again and make them handle like shit again. Maybe even bring a slightly harder tire so we stop having all these senseless tire failures like we saw this weekend at NH.
In my eyes what I consider to be Street Stocks/Limited Sportsman (similar to you guys sportsman division) Is some of the best racing in the world. Side by side, contact made, cars sliding all over sideways and out of control...
NASCAR should look back down at what makes local racing so popular with fans in a lot of areas of the country... Right now it seems like they are looking at F1...

Nope... Contrary to popular belief, I do understand racing and what is good... See, just because I haven't been around here long, doesn't mean I haven't been around the sport long... 22 years I have been attending weekly races and big time NA$CAR races... I've seen what works, and what doesn't. Do I have all the answers? HELL NO! But I like to believe I am somewhat intelligent and understand what puts the fans on the edge of their seats... THIS does!Originally posted by OldSchool+ View PostWhy Philbert, I agree with all of that!!!

Your gonna have to pick a lane and stay in it. Either we're talking about the Affordable Health Care Act ( which we were ) or we're talking about health insurance of all kinds and models. Let me know which so i can stay with the train of thought.Originally posted by kendo View PostNo,,,The amount is based on employer contribution for a typical family plan, unless of course one is stuck with obamacare.
