Jimmy Im really not sure, Its all done thru McMullen Oil off 49th st. Its their truck that sits at the racetrack.

I do know they use VP for the dragstrip from them so thats what it might be.

So you're running qualifying for the late models, one at a time on the track, after 7pm?

Yes Qualifying will be after 7pm. and Showtime Speedway does group qualifying, 4 or 5 cars at a time, they get three hot laps then go green for 5 laps, then we bring out the next group. Adds a little more excitement to game instead of one car at a time.

I still don't understand, if you're going to do "group qualifying", why not run HEAT RACES instead?? People coming through the gate want to see *racing*, not four- or five-car groups "qualifying". It's basically about the same, anyways - but pay your heat-race winners $75 or $100.

                heat races

From the few super late races I have been to, heat races would not work. There are a group (about 15) of Florida racers, that drive every lap, like it is the last lap of a race paying 1 million to win. So my point is if you start with 35 cars and run heat races, you might have 10-15 left to run the big show. I am going to go watch the race, and I hope to see a bunch of close side by side good clean racing, and not a crash fest!! I will let you know, Sunday morning. Vince Patola

Keep in mind all entries have to purchase 15 gallons of TRACK fuel

We'll be there, it looks like it's going to be a good race. Hope the weather holds out.
Are you serious about racers having to purchase 15 gallons of gas???? The back gate is higher than they thought!! Is that a track money making scheme or is the gas person gouging the drivers?
