I was hoping you would get a better response to this thread- the track could sure use a good turnout for this race.
The last couple of 50 lappers for the Sportsmen and Pure Stocks had disappointing car counts.
The purse looks decent all the way through and $1000 to win isn't bad at all.
As you say it's the only track running Mods this weekend so maybe some cars will show- I think 14 were there for a race this past spring.

I hate to drive 2+ hours to see only 5 or 6 cars but I'm probably going to take that chance again.....

I hope they get at least 12 cars, but the "payoff determined by car count" mentality usually keeps cars away, on top of the entry fee. Its just to far away for the majority of driver to make the haul, to, probably only race for 500 dollars, when it would cost close to 800 for most to go.

For what it's worth this past spring she did pay full purse for a couple races that were short on cars- I am not saying she will tonight.
If cars would show up to race on a regular basis, and she could count on a decent field, maybe the "car count" thing would go away.

I hear what you're saying though, I don't like the "car count" provision either.
I hope the drivers are too busy working on their cars to post on here and Bronson gets a 12+ car turnout.

I'll head that way as long as the rain chance is less than 50%

I never made it there last week as it looked like rain- apparently neither did any modified teams, it looks like only 2 showed up, geez......
Sure hope their SLM show does better on Sept. 13. I can't figure out what it's going to take to get cars to that track.
She's got a new promoter now, maybe he can get it turned around.

Ann has already either ripped off, or pissed off everyone who has tried to support Bronson. It's too late to steer that ship in a different direction with the same captain driving it.

There are serious communication issues with Bronson. Not having a website and solely relying on Facebook is a serious mistake. I can understand (but don't agree with) Ann not posting on KARNAC out of a fear of getting bashed, but at least have a track employee announce races on here and direct people to a website for more info. Every track in FL (except Bronson) does this. I have tried to plan racing at Bronson twice this year. One time the entire night was cancelled in advance with no notice except the date mysteriously vanishing from the Facebook schedule with no explanation. The second time was for this upcoming Saturday night September 6th. This time Sportsman vanished from the night's schedule with no explanation. I emailed her a while back asking about the date and told her I was coming up. It kind of ticks me off that she didn't email me that she had pulled Sportsman from the card. If I had towed all the way up there Saturday for nothing I would have been madder than a hornet. It's too bad. I love racing that quirky little high banked track and we have a setup that is real fast there. But I'm not going back until things change.

                      I am inclined to agree with you- perhaps a new direction will be taken with this announcement- taken from their facebook page;

                      Bronson Speedway
                      Yesterday
Chris and Ann Young owners of Bronson Speedway are pleased to announce beginning this Friday Sept 5 2014 Mr Leroy Davidson will take on the role of full time Director of Operations and Promotions at Bronson Speedway. Leroy brings to Bronson Speedway credentials that span 20 plus years in the business of racetrack operations. Mr Davidson built and enjoyed success at Charlotte County Speedway along with owning and running other successful business ventures.
Chris and I are confident Leroy Davidson possesses the skill set necessary to attain the goals we have set for Bronson Speedway. Those being to become the track of choice for the racers and their fans along with becoming the premier high banked short track in Florida.
Please join us in welcoming Leroy and his wife Connie to the Bronson Speedway family.
A meet and greet is being planned and the date will be announced soon...

Scott they have added the Sportsman to this Saturdays program- kind of last minute. If you commit to racing they will cover your pit fee or something like that. They're getting a decent response on their facebook page.
I completely agree with you about them not having a website- I don't understand why not, it's how advertising is done now days. Maybe with the new promoter the communication and schedule issues will be addressed, and hopefully car counts will come up.

Scott, it go so bad there at one point, people that even TRIED to fill people in, got their asses chewed. Jim Higgenbothersome being one of them. I've got NO clue what would motivate her to discourage people who were only trying to help.

Leroy is no saint, but definitely a step in the right direction. Leroy had had success, where Ann hasn't.

Hopefully, he might be the first one she actually listens to.

Thanks for the info Scott, but despite my love for laying on my back changing the rear end gear with the lovely floral bouquet of gear lube in the air again, I'm headed to New Smyrna Speedway Saturday Night. I had changed the gear to what I need at Bronson before I was informed Sportsman were pulled from the card. One free pit pass is not enough motivation to change it back again, besides I had already committed to NSS and I need to bring Patrick Thomas the set of Hoosier 800 tires I have so he can test them Saturday. I do hope things change up there as I keep trying to give them a chance. Unfortunately time is up for 2014 as far as me racing at Bronson goes. The communication problems just don't seem to get resolved though. As Jerry (Frasson118) points out, Diamond Jim and track employee (and my good friend) Don Stamford got chastised for simply posting race info on KARNAC a few years back. In addition to the mysterious disappearing events this year there have been other communication snafus. In the offseason Bronson emailed me asking what they could do make me want to race more often. I told them allow radios. Noone got back to me, even though they made the rule change to allow them at the beginning of the year. I didn't find out until I asked again 3/4 through the season. Like I said, hopefully things change. I guess we' ll have to wait and see.

We need to talk over Bronson's plan at the Gov Cup BBQ..... more of their racers show up there than they do at the track...!
