    ScottGarrity07 - Haha yeah I remember that! The mud hole in turn 1 was always good for some action. Then one year the hooter patrol got so big they had a helicopter dust storm us all.

        Leave the dirt for tractors to plow, take the front straight and build it into a 3/4 oval just like Richmond. Park motorhomes and cars round the old track. I don't know about you guys but Richmond puts on a show.
        The money comes and goes.
        The trophy we get to keep.

          There used to be a 3/4 mile flat true oval that used most of the frontstretch at Pocono. Every fall they had an event called the Race of Champions for NASCAR Tour-Type Modifieds and Street Stocks. It's a race I wish I'd gotten to run in but they stopped having it at Pocono. I heard all the racers had a blast on and off the racetrack. Here's some crude video. Notice how full the grandstand is:
