Joey Coulter Pro-Truck Series to hit the Dirt at North Florida Speedway

Orlando FL. 7-9-14 - The Joey Coulter Fellows Truck Broker Florida Pro-Truck Series will hit the dirt on Saturday July 12th for the first ever Pro-Truck series race on dirt. This is a totally new step for the series and for the Pro-Trucks. The Race is sponsored by Helena Chemicals Company.

" We really feel for the series to be a viable, marketable series it needs to run on dirt. This helps it become a stepping stone series for drivers to gain experience in different forms of racing, that's what Rick and I want" stated series owner Joey Coulter. "I have learned a lot on the dirt this last year or two, and running the first dirt race at Eldora for the Nascar Camping World Truck Series, and preparing for this years I know this is a good direction to take our Florida series".

" Joey and I have really tried to look at this as a test event, we do not have all the tools and stuff that Nascar did to prepare for their first event, but we feel we have done a good job using some of what they did at Eldora with some simple cost effective rules for this first event. We will make adjustments for the second event on October 4th after we learn from this one. We want everyone to have fun and just get a feel for it this time around" added series director Rick Bristol.

The interest has been good, so the series will see who shows to be a part of this inaugural event, but the series will forge ahead with plans for 4 dirt races in 2015. The series points members have the option to drop one of the two dirt races before the next to the last series race, this was done to keep the newness of the dirt races from hurting their points going for the championship. They also have one asphalt drop as well to use before that 14th series race going into the finale.

Becca Monopoli continues to lead the points and has put up some strong finishes and wins this year. Steve Darvalics one of only a few drivers with dirt experience has moved into second in the points and is looking for a good run on the dirt. Brent Huber is closely in third in the points and is getting some help for the dirt race from the Reutimann camp. Chad Chastain has slipped to fourth in the points but is still in it, and the winner of the last event at Citrus County, Cody McDuffie is holding the 5th spot in the points. With 4 winners in 5 races the series is very competitive and who knows who will win this first ever dirt event ! It will be interesting, so don't miss it !

This event on dirt will have a different format for these drivers, no qualifying and heat races by draw will set up the feature lineup. The feature is scheduled for 50 Laps or 60 Minutes which ever comes first !

Pit gates open at 3 p.m. for this event, hot laps at 6 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m. ! Pits passes are $25, kids 6-11 $15. Grandstand tickets are $12 Adults, $10 Seniors & Military. Kids 6-11 are $5 and kids 5 and under are free.
