WHO CAN REPEAT IN PRO LATE MODEL ACTION AT NEW SMYRNA SPEEDWAY?
NASCAR Whelan All-American Series racing is back at New Smyrna Speedway
Saturday night with five classes in action including the Pro Late Models,
Sportsman, Mini Stocks, Super Stocks and Strictly Stocks.
There has still yet to be a repeat winner this year in the Pro Late Model
division as Oklahoma's Tyler Thomas added his name to a growing list that now
includes seven different names. Will someone get a second victory this week?
It may happen but there are several top drivers in fast cars who have yet to
see the checker fall first for them this year.
Tyler Simpson added his name to a growing list of Mini Stock winners last week
and will be trying to repeat this week. Garrett Hill took his second victory
of the year in the Super Stocks last week while Earl "junior" Beckner will be
looking for win number three in the Sportsman class.
Pit gates open Saturday afternoon at 4 pm with division practice slated from
5-6:45 pm. Grandstand gates will open at 6 pm and racing action begins
promptly at 7:30 pm with a five lap tire scuff session for the Pro Late Models
followed by heat races for the Super Stocks, Sportsman, Mini Stocks and
Strictly Stocks. During intermission there will be a hot dog eating contest
for all ages before feature race action with 25-lap events for the Super
Stocks, Sportsman, Pro Late Models and Mini Stocks and a 20-lap feature for
the Strictly Stocks.
Adult admission is $15 with all seniors (65+) and military with valid ID
admitted for $13. Kids 11 years of age and under are free of charge.
Again this week, New Smyrna Speedway is offering the "Ultimate Fan
Experience." Three lucky fans will be chosen by a random drawing to spend the
night with a driver and his team. If you are interested in being entered into
the drawing please, please be at the track by 6:45pm so that each winner can
attend the drivers meeting.
