We all were stunned by how well the truck race at Eldora came off, and how well it was received. Why can't the same format be used at some of the paved tracks? Time trials that day or the day before, practice session, four heats for feature lineup a consolation to fill the field and a much shorter feature. Yes some quantity of laps is lost but is replaced with a higher premium placed on driving to win. No running in the back til the last part of the race, set distances that will negate fuel management and computations to achieve a win. In other words some real Saturday night racing the way the fan and sponsors deserves as they are the financial backbone of the sport.
