IT'S DADS NIGHT OUT THIS SATURDAY AT NEW SMYRNA SPEEDWAY
In honor of Father's Day this Sunday, New Smyrna Speedway will let all dads in
free of charge for NASCAR Whelan All-American Series racing Saturday night.
Five classes will be in action including the Pro Late Models, Sportsman cars,
E-Modifieds, Super Stocks and Strictly Stocks.
Well into the 2014 season, there has yet to be a repeat winner in the very
competitive Pro Late Model division as five different drivers - Tyler Audie,
Daniel Keene, Jr., Michael Lira, Cody Blair and Will Carroll - have won the
first five PLM events.
DQ's in the tech shed gave Donny Williams his first Sportsman victory of the
year last week and, just like the Pro Late Models, there has yet to be a
repeat winner in the Sportsman class. On the other hand, Jarrett Korpi has
had the upper hand in the E-Modifieds and will be looking for his fifth win of
the year this week.
The Super Stocks have seen four drivers claim wins in six races with both Mike
Trocki and Justin Reynolds claiming a pair of victories.
Pit gates open Saturday afternoon at 3 pm with division practice slated from
4-6 pm. Grandstand gates will open at 6 pm and a driver autograph session
will be held from 6:30-7 pm behind the grandstands, so make sure and arrive
early to meet your favorite driver. Racing action begins promptly at 7:30
pm.
Adult admission (for non-dads) is $15 with all seniors (65+) and military with
valid ID admitted for $13. Kids 11 years of age and under are free of charge.
