August 30th is their planned opening date. Haven't heard what classes will run that night yet.

I heard the only things left on the property after Kevin Williams left was Three Palms. By now they are probably dead though. Because they aren't promoting the place at all. What a shame, at one time the place was the place to race in the state. It was always packed and had a ton of cars in the pits.

            Remember when....

We had 161 cars in the pits. 47 Late Models. 4300 in the stands. Those were the days. 2007 CCMP. Semi Tractor Frig 8 and Charley Daniels and Bad Company. Yep those were the days. Wow have times changed.....

Bobby D. you ought to be ashamed to make any comments on this Speedway.
With all the backdoor policies and the financial problems you participated in and left at Charlotte County , who are you to talk!

I've been catching the big late model races up there since 1995 and never did I ever attend a race which had 47 late models!! Those numbers just don't exist today, or then for that matter, unless its a dirt late model show!!

I was there when they would run 2 or 3 consi races for latemodels , but that was in the very beginning when Leroy had it,and Desoto had just closed down from when Stimus had it. Back then they would have about 40-45 Pure Stocks show up. They would get cars from Hialeah,Sunshine and Desoto. Boy how times have changed.

                      Bobby,
We remember the packed crowds at PG Speedway, often the bleachers, and definitely the Hill was full, exact count I don't know but most Sat. nights the track was definitely the place to be. I remember the Charlie Daniels Band night with racing as well, seldom did we miss any races there. But that was back in the day, and I truly doubt that track will ever rise from the ashes again! It would be a shame, but nothing at all has taken place there that we can see so it's gonna be a lonnnnnng time before any more racing there. We take the ride up to Desoto now and with the new owners the track is being run well, car counts keep getting bigger as does the fan count and the food is GR8! There is nothing like good ole bump and grind short track racing.!Hope your health is getting better by the day Bobby, haven't heard any updates lately.
