ORLANDO SPEEDWORLD RETURNS TO ACTION FRIDAY NIGHT
After a pair of weeks off for a big car show and for last week's Crash-A-Rama
festivities, stock car racing returns to Orlando SpeedWorld Friday night with
six classes in action.
Open Wheel Modifieds return this week and will be joined by the Pro Trucks,
Legend Cars, Strictly Stocks, Four Cylinder Stocks and Bandoleros.
Alan Bruns of Clermont currently leads the Modified point standings by eight
markers over Earl Beckner. Chad Pierce, Zach Harris and Bruce Bennett round
out the top five in Modified points at this time. The ladies have a
stranglehold on the Pro Truck point standings as Whitney Poole has a good lead
on Becca Monopoli going into this week's action. David Owen has a huge lead
in the Legend Car standings while Megan Matheny is the Strictly Stock point
leader by 13 over William Hindman. Eric Hodge has a substantial 44 point lead
over John Gross in the Four Cylinder Stocks while both Sam Cornman and Colton
Bramlett are looking for another Bandolero win to break their tie in current
points.
The track would like to welcome a new sponsor in the form of Sheppard Racing
Enterprises out of Deland. Headed by Alan "Gadget" Sheppard, the company is a
one-stop-shop for a variety of racing needs including, chassis set-up, chassis
dyno, frame repair, welding, race car ballast, body fabrication, roll cages,
tire shaving and more including NASCAR die cast collectables. SpeedWorld would
also like to thank BlueLine Rentals for their help with lighting and providing
equipment to help replace lights around the track.
Gates open Friday afternoon at 4 pm with grandstand gates opening at 6 pm and
racing beginning promptly at 8 pm. Adult admission is $12 with all seniors
(65+) and military with valid ID admitted for $10. All kids 11 years of age
and under get in free.
