Jane I sure hope they get a good car count. Because the Series sure hasn't been pulling the cars in. But my thinking is and I have seen others thinking the same way. Reduce that top prize to $1000.00 and put the other $500.00 into paying MORE at the bottom of the line up. You would get alot more of those that would like to fun the race. But know they have no chance at first place. Pay $400.00 as a minium. It is the kind of thing I think will help increase the car count. And in turn add to the fan count. Plus you have to remember that each new car added to the list will bring with it a family (2 or 3). And a pit crew (2 or 3). Thoses other people HAVE TO PAY $25.00 to get in the pits and they also have to eat. There's more money in the owners pocket. I wish tracks that hold a race say for Sportsmen or any other class would try doing this and see if they don't get bigger car counts. And LET the drivers know what the pay outs are. And none of this IF 20 OR 25 CARS SHOW CRAP. Put the money up and leave it there. About six weeks ago Auburndale had a 100 lap Sportsmen race with $1500.00 to win. Well by the time that race was to start it was after midnight. The owner called the drivers together and ASK if it was ok to cut the race to 50 laps, but have the same pay outs. Well of course the drivers said yes. And you can bet the drivers well remeber this track and how they were treated in the future. I use this as an example of how track owners have to start thinking if they are going to keep the tracks open. NOT BY PULLING MONEY from the payout to pay for dirt next year. To keep making the drivers pay for the track, when it is the drivers that ARE the show. Isn't going to work any more. This picture is what I feel the owner of tracks and series or doing to the drivers. How long would you keep letting them do that to you?
