Hey Mark. We kinda had something like SUDS at Stafford out behind turn 2 way back by the trees every Friday night, just without the points. You should remember since you were on the Cook Brothers Team (the drinking team with a racing problem). And I guess some things never change, Phil!

I'm coming to the race at NSS! I'd love to find a way to rent a night in one of the NH cars...
Even Jerry would show up for free beer..
This sat night its free beer. drinking starts at 3 and racing some time later in the morning.
Bone drone is in the golf cart on the 1st row with jerry the drunk on the outside.
And there off !!!!
Jerry could win his first race ever!!! He might even get the BURP award.

I may joke about the SUDS thing, but alcohol (no matter how small the amount) has no business being consumed by driver, crew or ANYONE in the pits from the moment you wake up that day until the checkered flag. I have a ZERO TOLERANCE for that with my team. This sport is dangerous enough and there's no place for it. Now, after the race is a different story! (unless your driving, of course). The SUDS concept is about clean, yet fierce competition, sportsmanship and the act of sharing a beer to be social and promote friendly competition and have fun. It is NOT an encouragement to be a drunk @**hole.Last edited by scottgarrity07; 05-15-2014, 12:01 PM.

Well SUDS is not about the alcohol content of the beer, just the social aspect of drinking beer together and bulls*#tting. I'm sure it would be fine for Daniel to have an O'Douls (non-alcoholic) or even an A&W to satisfy the requirements of SUDS. As for Daniel, I forgot to give him 5 bonus points for "conduct BENEFICIAL to the sport of auto racing" for being one of the few Sportsman drivers who actually brought their cars out for the autograph session. We all, as drivers, need to remember that we have got to do all that we can to be fan friendly and put on a show. Without the fans, we have nothing. I was disappointed that all the Sportsman cars didn't participate. Someone is steering this young man in the right direction and I commend that. He is a fine young man and a great driver. Also, this old dog is not too proud to admit that I learned a few things following young pup Daniel around in practice. Although the Sportsman class is comprised mostly of salty old veterans, the younger drivers that are steered by their Dad's into our class, as a stepping stone, for the most part drive "beyond their years" and you don't see that "checkers or wreckers, Daddy will fix it/ buy a new one" mentality that exists with a lot of the young'uns in Pro Lates and Super Lates. It's another reason I love racing Sportsman.
"What you talkin' bout, Williston ?" (sorry, I couldn't resist). No need to miss out. I know you run at NSS from time to time and the event at Bronson is right down the road from y'all. It's never too late to jump on the "beer wagon".
