Went to Volusia Saturday night. They had a very nice car count with 26 late models. This Saturday night's Thompson Memorial should be a good one. A guy that caught my eye was Jason Davis. Man did he had his elbows up and kept his foot planted on the floor. However Joe Kump was impressive in his win...
Anyway, I was sitting there asking myself "why can't Volusia have a sprint car class?" Obviously the FSCA isn't a viable option right now. So why don't Volusia, Ocala & Putnam get together to form a limited sprint car "league." Have the three tracks run limited sprints once a month. It could be like it is in PA with Williams Grove, Selinsgrove and Linclon. There are plenty of sprint cars sitting around looking for a track to race at. If a track can run late models then it should be able to run sprints once a month...North Florida is already trying to do it. There are too many travelling series as it is. So if the FSCA goes away (like it looks like it is) if your a track why not offer a higher end division like sprint cars? Not to mention, how neat would it be to say so and so was the track sprint car champion at Volusia or Ocala?
