  • Late arrivals? What would you do? A track owners survey.

**Disclaimer** The following is satire that plays upon existing stereotypes. I happen to know and like several of the people on the following list, and don't want to do harm to any of them, ok?

So lets say you are a track operator, and you have the same situation that occured at Auburndale last week: two of your regular competitors arrived late after running earlier at another speedway. What would you do? Let them run? Throw them out like Auburndale did?

As a public service, I conducted a poll this morning of some Florida speedway operators to get their input.

    John Sarppriacone De Soto Speedway
"I'd give them a knuckle sandwich and have them escorted from the property".

    Don Nerone Columbia Motorsports Park
"They can stay and run, but they will have to buy 4 tires, 20 gallons of fuel and a pit slab".

    Bobby Diehl Charlotte County Speedway
Bobby would send out simultaneous press releases to all southern publications and racing websites, and have a parade through down-town Punta Gorda.

    Rusty Marcus Orlando Speedworld
Rusty offered to give them their own class and add them to the Saturday night show.

    Terry Roberts New Smyrna Speedway
Its ok, as long as they show up the day before and pay for a full day of testing.

Rusty would also require the drivers to submit to a foot race on the front straightaway wearing pink shoes and a purple Rusty for President hat.

Venture up to Florence Motor Speedway and Charlie Powell would let them race. and once entering the Tech shed would procede to DQ the drivers for too much air in their tires.

Mike Peters, Ocala Speedway would say "Hey Dude, pop out that windshield and bring it on."
