i visited a local track in WV last night. Ona speedway (they have a website too) and was surprised at what i saw.
apparently a racer took over the track and re-opened it. surely they still have growing pains.
the 4 OWM had strictly stock engines in them. it was painful to watch.
the 3 hobbystocks were sportsman cars with stock bodies hung on them and huge HP engines........confuses me about the mods.
a new v6 class that had 5 cars...............meh.
what impressed me were the U-CARS. stock 4 cyl hondas, dodge neons etc which pays $150 to win. there were 27 of them! and they raced
HARD!
i didn't even stay for LM which probably would only be a few.
is it the area or has this guy came up with a rules package to make it very affordable to race? the lowest class was the show.
props to the track. i got there promptly at 7pm when racing was supposed to start. at 7:20 the announcer was still blah blah blah..........he is no announcer Dave! when i then notice the county EMT unit pulling into the infield. he then said we can go racing which they did. safety first.
