  • Easter Activities

Here is a question. Is a track obligated to do some type of Easter activity if they race on or around Easter? I just read on OSW's Facebook page that they weren't planning on anything for the kids and they caught flak for it. I go for the races and if you want a egg hunt, go to a church or park and hunt eggs until you are blue in the face.

    Thoughts?

Why not have a little fun for the kids? If a track puts on an egg hunt, or a basket give-away, the kids will happily take part. Remember, those kids have a parent who is buying a ticket, so the more kids involved the better.

I'll never forget when I was a kid at Hialeah. The pits were right outside turns 1 and 2, so for many years the big egg hunt in the infield turned into a good natured artillery war with some of the teams parked along the wall. It was hardly in the true spirit of Easter, but at least everyone was having a good time.

A track isn't obligated to do *anything* for any holiday. Sure, they might catch h*** for it, but it's not an "obligation".

For *years* up here, Cloverleaf Speedway's opening date was Easter Sunday, whether it was in March or April.

It's a religious holiday, and, unless the promoter or track owner are "religious", I doubt you'd ever see much at a race track other than maybe an egg hunt...

I dont see where they have to do anything... But if they wanted to do something last minute... Autographs and candy makes em happy.

That's sad. Tracks won't do anything for Easter, but they will do something for Halloween.

well they use to do it every year before the new owner took over .and I don't think them doing something for the kids at intermission would hurt anything .
