  • Jeremy Mayfield back behind the wheel.

Jeremy will be driving a Modified at Hickory in a back-up car to Jimmy Zacharias. It's the new KOMA Series for Tour-type Mods in the South.

Another follower of this new series will be Tim Brown of Bowman Gray Stadium fame.

He also have a 20 races deal in a Super Late Model on Dirt.

My idea is that somehow he will be back in Na$car Sprint Cup at some point. Na$car will love it because Na$car loves those success, down the hole, back to success stories. Just watch the media frenzy behind all this. And since he has a lot on *film, he can come up with a very well documented movie of his personnal story when it's all said and done. He likes being in spotlights, remember his reality show featuring him and his wife.

Something tells me he is not done.

      * at the beginning of his ordeal with the brass of Daytona, he had hired a film production who followed and filmed him everywhere he went, everything he did and said.

He is a talented driver no doubt. I hope his return goes smoother than Gary Baloughs did. One question lingers for me. Did he ever complete NASCARs substance abuse program.

I red somewhere, that is is willing to do it if he has a decent ride offer.

Not that I ever heard, and to this day swears he has never abused or used drugs.

I listened to one of his first interviews, a phone in to a talk show on Sirius XM after being bored and tuning in to the nascar channel for a minute. The host was hyping it up as a gloves off, get to the point interview and how he "wasn't gonna let the publicists or Jeremy put any caveats on the interview if he wanted to be on his show". So I made the mistake of believing him and tuned back in for it. What a let down, he didn't ask one question about the allegations or Jeremy's drug use. He basically asked him about his current rides and what his goals were, it ewas like he was interviewing any other guy. The edgiest question he could come up with was whether he had or would complete nascar's road to recovery program and he said no he hadn't, then no he wouldn't, then yes maybe he would. The guy didn't step in and ask "why wouldn't you" or any obvious questions a good interviewer would've, or imo should've asked. I was more disgusted with the interviewer than Jeremy. How about "are you now or were you addicted to illicit drugs" or "Why did you pop positive" or " Then what about the stolen merchandise found in your house" "Is Shana still hot"

I heard a guy on an internet radio show related to this very website do the same thing to Balough. So what if he (Jeremy or Gary) gets up and throws his headphones down or whatever...it would make for GREAT radio.

                    Jeremy?

IMHO, he seemed to me to be a classic case of why you, " Don't burn your bridges". A very classic case of a self-destructive individual. Wasted talent.

He needs to have his "people" read Andre's post.

How does this compare to a local, former championship driver, now being promoted as driver for a "Pro Truck" race in the area, that had a serious drug related arrest less than a year ago? Why is Jeremy news, who only failed a test... when the other guy isn't? Just curious...

I have no idea who/what you're talking about and I don't want to. But I'm gonna guess it's because nascar has money they don't want to lose and the other is not really relevant in the public eye.
