Neat photo of the start of the 1953 NASCAR GN race at the Palm Beach Fairgrounds Speedway... date was 2/1/53... Dick Rathman is on the pole in a Hudson with Fonty Flock outside in an Oldsmobile... Lee Petty went on to win the race in a new 1953 Dodge while Jimmy Lewallen drove Petty's year-old Plymouth to a second place finish... The second photo is of Petty in victory lane with Lewallen to the left in the red shirt... The third photo shows a fan getting an up close look at the engine in Petty's car... neat old stuff...
