I would like to know if you can't do better than 10th what are you adding to the show other than another car making laps. All the spectators that go to a race go for the competition not just to see cars going around in circles. Besides how many classes had more than 10 cars I would say until there are more than 10 cars in a class you are complaining for no reason.Originally posted by DPRacecars View PostOne word. Payout. I know racing is not about making money, cause you sure as hell will not make any in short track racing, but to cut payout for some classes then only pay to 10th place (11th on back gets nothing) that's just not good business. You think they'd wanna give a little encouragement to have you come back. I can go to Orlando gran Prix and not put out as much money and have just as much fun. I love Orlando, it was my first track I raced at.. My home track.. And I have supported it through all the bs that's happened. But there has to be somethin said. I hope someone important sees this and doesn't take it as bashing but as a personal opinion. People are aloud to have opinions right?

Honestly, you know what you are in for when you show up to race. If you think you are getting rich OR even breaking even, then you are wrong. It was the first night of racing. Let them get everything together.
I am a paying customer, I come to see racing. A bunch of people with a need for speed, that can compete and be friends after the race. That will treat my kid with respect andset an example, as he wants to be you one day.
Is it really worth the fight over a few dollars???

well that doesnt surprize me you not supose to stand up anymore for anything according to few guys on here. I am glad that scotty stood up to them its there loss. you know last year the first race night at osw they had more cars I think about 55/60 cars. talking to my buddy he didnt think last night was that great. he said the food was awful he went up there to get a coffee and they had no cups and he said there was only about 50 people in the stands counting kids .Originally posted by DPRacecars View PostAlso, buggy driver, Scott ponder was fired for saying somethin bout the payout. As a parent/car owner. Got told he was showing his ass. When all he was doing was standing up for the drivers. 30 year veteran and has been there through everything Orlando has gone through. He was sticking up for the drivers.

It says on www.orlandospeedworld.org "5 or more cars needed in each class for full payout. If not payout will be 50% of advertised amount." It was posted by shorttrackcar1 that each class had 5 cars or better. Did they have 5 or better and still cut the purse? If so, then people have a right to be unhappy. It also doesn't list a payout beyond tenth, so it shouldn't have been expected. While I believe that everyone who starts the race deserves at least their pit fee back, it was never promised. BTW, there are other things that can keep you out of the top ten besides being uncompetitive (wrecking, breaking, etc.)

If that's the case then I don't understand why people are complaining. Those purses that are posted on orlandospeedworld.org seem to be in line with the rest of the tracks in FL (except for the OWM purse which seems a little low). But hey, you've got to walk before you can run and I've been as critical of Ozzy as anyone, but it appears he is making an honest effort of it this year. Having tires and fuel is a good start (Bronson still doesn't have fuel in its 3rd year of new ownership). Sounds like last night had some descent support and effort also. Time will bear things out on both sides for sure. If everyone wants this to succeed then you all have to do your part. Drivers, fans and ownership alike.Originally posted by cake View PostScott I don't think the purse was cut lower then it was posted last night. I believe the expression of opinion is that the payout overall is lower then it was last year
