Edm, it was in Punta Gorda Fl. They are based in Daytona Fl. I had goose bumps when they raced their Feature. There is 3 classes there, Midgets, Stock and sprint. They are pretty competitive. I saw more pases in their feature than you see in a lot of weekly shows on asphalt. Bob...

Ain't they cool?
Duane, I think they are based out of Daytona. They call themselves DARA
and I think thats an acronem fo Daytona Antique Racing Association. The #93 modified is from Port Charolette over here and the #21 stock is from Palmetto. I bet NSS could get them if they called them. They spent the whole week-end at ccmp We raced Fri and Sat they only got to run Fri, we had rain and they didn't get to race. Bobby opened the track for them Sunday afternoon and let the public in free. With them the only show sunday I bet they put on a whale of a show. Most of the times I have seen them before they race kinda gentle cause they are antiques, but this time they got after it. The #6 midget he and the little roadster battled back and forth for the lead in their feature. The #93 modified turned times close to our OWM class. Bob....

It sure is nice to see and hear.... I can remember growing up and watching cars like that that were actually still being raced in the 70's and 80's in regular circuits up North... Some of them as a special, and some just because the drivers couldn't afford to update... Always neat to see them...

I agree Duane, But I am old enough that some of those were what we raced. LOL! The #93 Modified is really a cool ride. I couldn't believe how fast it is for its age. Although they don't have any engine rules, so i'd imagine the engine was built with just what the builder could afford. What I really enjoyed was the history behind each one. I'd like to do a video explaining the history of each. The sprint car #10, Campbell I think was his name, was Sport Allen's first Sprint car when he was 13. The car was old when Sport got it. I just think that would be neat to know the history of each one and have it on dvd for all time. Bob.........
