Good for Tony - I dont disagree that Danica is a long shot out there but I am tired of "King" Richards view from the throne. Love that he is calling him out on the equipment disparity that he enjoyed during his tenure..
“I told her she should challenge Richard to a heads-up race,” Stewart said. “I think that would pretty much settle it once and for all. Maybe get him to shut up a little bit, too. He drove in an era when he had cars that were superior to what everyone else was running a lot. I think he forgets that NASCAR has changed a lot since he was a driver and how hard it really is now.”
Stewart even offered his cars. ”I will supply the cars. I don’t care. If he wants to race her, I’ll make sure they have exactly the same setup in the car and give him a chance. He can drive one of my 14 cars. I don’t care.”
Doug Rice of PRN suggested to Stewart that if Patrick did win a race, that she could present the checkered flag to the King to autograph.
Stewart replied, “If I were her, I’d take it over there and cram it up his (expletive). If it were me. That’€™s just me.”
“I’ll be honest, that’s the first time I’ve said anything about it. I tried to steer away from it. But it’s like, man, did he really think about what he said before he said it?”

Richard put up the numbers during his career by having the best car in the field by far. And also because of smart racing. In the 50s and 60s, NASCAR sanctioned a lot of tracks in the south. There were often three or more NASCAR points paying races each weekend, all within driving distance from the Charlotte area. Petty tells of he and his family pouring over the entry lists for each track and then going to the track that had the least amount of quality cars. That's where a lot of the 200 wins came from.
Having said that, you gotta be fairly good behind the wheel to win 200.

Leave it to Stewart to become his usual disrespectful, crude self with his mouth...I wonder how his ole buddy fatso aj would do in such a race against Princess Sparkle Pony...
Stewart can mouth off all he feels like but he will never be the great ambassador that the King is for the sport and he will never mentioned of achieving the level of respect and having the adulation of the millions that have it for Richard.
Guess what, I am never was really a big fan of RP but that's the facts Jack!

Now, now. First things first, Richard has to race against Danica before we pull AJ into the mix. I got a better idea, after the Danica/Richard cage match, how about an AJ/Richard match race for Americas' Racing Champion crown? The winners? That's easy, Danica over Richard with ease...AJ over Richard with just as much ease.

I thought the same thing. Since Kyle's record is so pathetic and he's not any good why wasn't this challenge issued when he said basically the same thing. Since all the puppets said he was not a quality driver and had no reason to pass judgment then she should wax him with no problem.

Richard has done more for the sport of auto racing then most people will ever know. As far as a race between the 2 how fair could that be. In Petty's prime he would run circles around Dinica not so sure now at his age.

I saw him still in the pits at Macon signing autographs long after the other drivers had left the track.
I also saw Richard signing autographs long after the races were over, that's how I got his autograph in fact. But I also saw many other drivers do the same thing over the years and some still do. Most just scamper off to their Motor Homes now.
Petty's autograph/people skills with the fans aren't what this thread is about.
