  • Crowd Pleaser at Volusia on Sunday Night...

Well I started my Speedweeks this year by attending five nights of sprint car racing on the dirt. Every single show was awesome. The World of Outlaws concluded their Volusia series with #11 Steve Kinser, starting fourth, taking the win over the pole sitter #9 Daryn Pittman, and Sat night winner #15 Donny Schatz in third. Very fitting win as this is Kinser's final season as an Outlaw point contender. The win was extremely popular with the fans. Tony Stewart was in Victory circle with his driver(s). Many folks lined up against the fence showing their appreciation for the King during the post race interview. . Race started with the #96 of Bronson Maeschen flipping his sprinter in turn one creating a complete re-start. After Kinser took the lead, Pitman made several challenges but just could not pass Kinser. #49 Brad Sweet was 4th and #83 Tim Kaeding was fifth. Personally I have never seen a more professional short track show then the Outlaws. Enjoyed every single minute of all their races. The UMP Mod feature went to Austin Dillon as he bested the 31 car field,, giving the Dillons their third win of the series. Ty with two and Austin with one. Austin sure can hug that bottom groove of the VSP half miler. The proud grandfather, Richard Childress was on hand to congratulate Austin. What a feat, Daytona pole & Volusia win on the same day for Austin. . About seven Nascar drivers have competed in the UMP portion of the show this year. Another packed house at the Speedway. What a great time of the year for the Florida fan. Expensive yes, but worth every single penny spent. Great racing and have met many new fans along the way so far this year. See you at the track....

Nice review Denman...... you should do one of these for every show you attend.

I went to Volusia myself on Saturday night, and I have to agree on what a professional event it was. From the minute I pulled on the parking lot, there was excitement in the air. Glad I went .....!!!
