      Nascar would never put the 3 on the pole just for the publicity. Im sure he won that pole fair and square just a coincidence the first #3 on the track since Dale died at Daytona just like Danica winning last year, just a coincidence. If you believe that you are awful gullible just my opinion.

          You are right on the gear issue. But what if you had a trick tire that was a little bigger. It would really make a big difference on a super speedway. When I ran karts in the early 60s we ran a 14.5 inch tire on the back. I was a dog in the turns but give me a long straight or sweeping turn and I was a rocket at the end.
