I read today that Richard Petty said in an interview that the only way Danica will win a race, is if everyone else went home! Wonder what Nascar will say about that. I'm sure they will try to spin it a different way. I beleive she has as good a chance as anyone on a track like Daytona or Dega, where you can find yourself going from the back to the front in a couple laps, (wether you wanted to or not). I do not think she will win on any other type of track on the circuit. Does she have talent? Yes. Is she out of her element? Yes. Unless she changes and gets over the fear of "rubbing", she will never achieve what Nascar had hoped for. In open wheel Indy cars, if your car touches a competitors car, it usually means somebody is going have a bad wreck. She doesn't appear to be able to get past that train of thought. It's how she was taught from the begining. Is she a legitimate driver? Yes. Is she a publicity stunt for Nascar? Yes. Other Indy car drivers have done well because they get out there and are not afraid to push people out of the way. No matter if she does win or never wins, until she starts "roughing" it up, most fans will continue to see it for what it is.

Good thing they aren't driving anymore. Nascar hates people who speak their mind, no matter if it's honest or true. The biggest problem is that until she does win, most fans will see it as a PR stunt.Comment

With that massive win percentage Kyle has he should talk. They should be happy she is there she gets nascar more ink than all the rest combined.Comment

How can you say his opinion doesn't matter .
That's like saying George Washington's opinion wouldn't matter .

There's no more reason for her to win to validate her career than there is any other NASCAR driver to validate theirs. Not very many NASCAR drivers over the years have won races. But I"d be willing to bet if someone with a boat load of cash like no other seen before to sponsor her and wanted her to drive for Petty he would be right there fitting her in the seat personally.Comment

We should listen to Richard Petty because he was astute enough to hire some real powerhouse drivers over the years. The big stars like Buckshot Jones and Christian Fittipaldi.
In just a few years, the fair Danica has brought in more fans to the sport than Kyle did over his long and lackluster career.
But I also have to add that I've been a Richard Petty fan forever! Sometimes he misses the point a bit....just like that BVS40 dude.
