Mr. Hart's response to the cancellation seems to be aimed more at political correctness than the facts of the situation. Since PASS is one of the feeder programs for NASCAR one wonders if they might have had some input now that NSS carries their sanction. I guess I am still mad that these actions remain an insult to the local racing fan who really has a right to know what really is/was going on.

It is on another web site that for some reason is antagonistic towards KARNAC so I will not publicize their name. When an organizations mission is to inform the public I see no need for pissing matches since in the end it simply means every one got wet.Comment

I am curious why you think they are antagonistic towards KARNAC. I actually havent seen or heard anything from either site about the other. I have cut and pasted links to there numerous times without complaint from KARNAC and made reference to them similarly. Not sure if you are seeing something new or perhaps different than i am seeing it.
With respect to Mr Hart - he is taking the high road. It will pay off, it always does. PASS and NASCAR dont have any affiliation that I know of.
That PASS race at NSS a few years back was one of the best i have seen there. I was hoping for more of the same. Oh well.Comment

New Smyrna Speedway Statement Regarding Cancellation of PASS Race
From New Smyrna Speedway PR Dept.
"We are very surprised and extremely disappointed in the cancellation of the PASS event at New Smyrna Speedway for this coming weekend. We felt it was going to be an exciting race for the fans and competitors alike. Officials from PASS decided they needed to cancel the event Friday evening. We, at New Smyrna Speedway, know how much effort the racers were making in the preparation of their cars, especially those coming from long distances, and the logistics teams have already made to compete in this event. For this, we are deeply saddened. We do not like to have a race on our schedule and cancel it a week out from the event.
"For all those that did make the effort to compete in this event, we extend the invitation to race at New Smyrna Speedway during the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing from February 14- 22. In fact, for those that want to race during the World Series and were listed on the pre-entered list for the PASS event originally scheduled on February 8th, we will offer four free pit-passes to be used for the team on the first night that the team competes during the World Series."

Mea culpa. It is not the site itself, it is the posts in their rants and raves that have singled out KARNAC or abuse. In reality I am a fan of both sites as certain dirt tracks do not see fit to include KARNAC when putting out their results. I agree with Bubba. Mr. Hart and NSS are definitely taking the high road with this announcement. PASS, on the other hand, played the blame game. PASS was described by NSSīs Tim as a professional organization. They didn't show it with their petty deflection of blame over "speedway marquees" and "website updates" as a necessity to cancel. Damn dudes, you had one of your people down here, you couldn't straighten that out??? NSS and co. have shown themselves to be the true professionals here. No need to sling mud on their part. I almost never visit speed51 except during the Snowball. To me it seems the closest Speed 51 gets to dirt is in the parking lot.Comment
