    - For Immediate Release

CHARLOTTE, NC (February 1) – Due to circumstances out of their control and with great disappointment, Pro All Stars Series (PASS) officials announced today the cancellation of next weekend’s Winter Meltdown at New Smyrna Speedway. Miscommunication which resulted in the speedway website not being updated with information about the event, the speedway marquee not being changed to promote the event and a test session scheduled by the speedway that would have extremely limited PASS teams practice time on Friday led to the cancellation. For any teams that pre-entered for the Winter Meltdown, those entries will be refunded and mailed out on Monday. Any teams that would like to transfer entries to the Greenville-Pickens Speedway event on March 1 need to contact the PASS offices by Monday.
“We are extremely disappointed in having to cancel the Winter Meltdown at New Smyrna Speedway,” said PASS President Tom Mayberry. “I know that this is very inconvenient for our teams that have prepared their cars and booked travel to Florida, but we felt this decision was best in light of the circumstances. With that said, we’re very excited to kick our season off at Greenville-Pickens on March 1.”
The Fox Carolina 150 at Greenville-Pickens Speedway on March 1 will now become a PASS National Championship Series event and will also serve as the opener for the PASS South Super Late Models and PASS Pro Late Models.
The Pro All Stars Series is recognized as North America’s premier sanctioning body for asphalt Super Late Models and boasts such marquee events as PASS South’s Easter Bunny 150 at the historic Hickory Motor Speedway, the Autobus La Quebecoise Triple Crown at Autodrome Chaudière, and the legendary Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway. For technical information concerning all PASS divisions please send questions to passracing@roadrunner.com. For media or marketing questions, please contact Alan Dietz at 704-231-2039 or alandietzpass@live.com. Please visit ProAllStarsSeries.com for more information. For eventual release

PASS got their feelings hurt because NSS didn't promote the race hard enough. Thin skinned bunch if you ask me.
    1. Race promotion by Florida tracks in general is atrocious, always has been. PASS should have been smart enough to do their homework and they would have known this before ever signing the agreement. And you're the marketing guy for the series Alan, what was keeping you from marketing this race?
    2. Many Florida race fans have no idea who or what PASS is. Just one of 200 or so series formed over the last 10 years in the South. This would have been the ideal time to introduce their brand to the NSS crowd. PASS must think they're already popular enough.
    3. Read number 1 again.
    4. And then fire the wuss who's feelings got hurt and decided to cancel the show.

Is PASS one of those northern run series that we hear about being so great on here.
I though that was the one that some people here though we should take lesons from.
Now they cancel a race in florida and they are the bad guys.
Pass wont miss the NSS race and Robert Hart wont loose any sleep over them not coming.
The only bad here is that most of the PASS teams from the far north would have traveled to the NSS race and left there cars down here and returned for the world series .
The only chance to see those great north east drivers to race the regular speedweeks cars is gone
They did come to Lakeland for the north south and what a show.
Don't throw either under the bus.
      Its just a missed target.

As usual, Don is tossing out mis-information. The last PASS race at NSS had exactly 1 car stayed for the World Series.... Lonnie Sommerville in his 23. This year, I believe Bill Catania is the only one entered for both, and he's from NC, not up in Maine.

Funny thing is.... I DO know what's going on, with both the PASS situation and Mark Keeler. The reason I'm told these things is that I can be trusted to keep my mouth shut when I should, and not let wild rumors and speculation go around.

Your speculation on Marks situation couldn't be further from the truth, and its nobodies business other than Mark & Robert Hart.

I won't tell anyone what I know.... but I will call someone out for an outright lie.

Just for the record, OSF can be paid off with with concession stand freebies, but in this case, I think he DOES appreciate the silence.

Bob..... I owe you a Putnam County Burger if they allow the chance for me to buy you one.

Like ab195, not only do I respect Frassons protection of others, it is people like him that serve to promote honesty in the sport. Why would one(other than Pass) deliberately lie if they know there is someone who knows the truth and can expose them. Good work and good luck with the reunion.

Actually the race at Auburndale last year had a short field of cars and Rex did an admirable job of talking a few locals into running to at least get over 20 cars... The race was pretty good though...

Jerry if there was not the chance that NSS would not have a chance to get cars and fans
from the pass race they would not rent it.
I think I know how it works there.
As far as Mark I know and it not any thing I would print about anyone.(maby I would tell if it was u)
