  • Jack Miller Article Continued

Jack Miller continued his article in this month's Sprint Car & Midget Magazine about the Florida track he visited. Mr. Miller stated he had a conversation with the track owner/ promoter and the track owner said they are losing money and could shut down at the end of the year. I was like WOW! Jack then went on to talk about trying to save our shorttracks. It was an interesting little article.

When you read that article, if you're in the know, it's not real hard to figure out which track he's talking about, which is a shame.

No track name was given but like Tripper said with a little deductive reasoning you can figure it out. And it would be a shame to see this track close. Let's hope it's not true.

OK. Well lets see the info so we can do some deducing! I personally could see anyone of several tracks closing, both dirt and asphalt. More than a couple seem to be teetering on the edge, and one or two folks might not expect.

                Sure sounds Bronson-ish to me.

That would be very sad.......Great little track, clean pits, friendly crew.
Low car counts though......just can't see why. Yes payouts are not great, but that is related to car counts. Domino effect.
How about this for racin' though on a small track.....3 wide and me on the bottom. No wreckin'.

                    Yep - There "IS" Passing

I have heard over the years there is no passing at Bronson... BUT, there is proof in JIMBO's picture for all to see (and then some).
That is the neatest track around, and yes, when drivers know what they are doing and good at it, they can pass like crazy.

JIMBO, thanks for the picture and I for one hope this is not the track the rumor is relating to. Mike, Jane and Tommy are a class act and sure know what they are doing. Many times it comes down to "Location-Location-Location". I think there should be some way to include the college kids from Gainesville to keep that place hopping, ie. concerts when the track is not racing, perhaps go-carts, cycle racing... perhaps some real off-the wall stuff.

Sure would like to see the little town of Bronson light up on the map.

I loved racing hobby stocks and latemodels at bronson. But the last time I raced there was in 2000 before they improved the track. I would love to see them run modifieds so I could try out the new Bronson.

No, the track Jack Miller was referring too was one that hosted a pavement sprint car race. And a wingless one at that.

Lakeland USA? Have heard a persisitent rumor about them as well. Now with NSS taking some Sprint Cup testing, they could be hurting...
