so where in the South are they racing 3-4 nights a week. A regular local show now, not a "SPECIAL" event!

I'd have to drop a big name too because nobody'd know my name either.

Ok, so where do we look for inspiration? I was just picking an area that is still successful with racing. We could also look to certain places in the midwest or california. I'm not arrogant enough to think I know everything about my business. When I know someone does something better than me I try to learn from them and put pride aside to better myself. Race t racks should do the same!
I gave my reasons why Fridays may not work, but I think a place like Marion County could thrive on Sundays. I'd do it early in the afternoon until it got really hot. Say until the end of May do gates at 1, racing(not hot laps, racing) at 3 and be out of there by 6 at the latest. Midgets, minis and one other class and it would be the only game in town.

Face it ,schedules have to be more creative in the north

because anyway you slice it there are only so many saturdays per month and there is a very small weather window unless you want half of your events called the Snowball Derby.Fridays and Sundays should be used more both here in Florida AND up north since no track can survive any longer solely on a saturday night only schedule.Too few dates, too little revenue coming in=bankruptcy. One main difference between up north and Florida is,Whatever your premeir division is,be it sprints, late models, modifieds, those divisions race EVERY week up north,OR at the least 3 times a month. Here in Florida you might see a late model or sprint car race once, maybe twice a month. The rest of the time you are subjected to under divisions, which would be fine if the car counts for those divisions were in the 20s or 30s but rarely are they.
