Don't know yet how Speed51 covered it, but an absolute rookie at asphalt LM racing , Tyler Dippell stole the show for me.

First EVER race in either a full-bodied car, or on asphalt at all, Q-13 out of 30, ran as high as 3rd (crashed on lap 99 with Bobby Good going for 2nd).

In its own way, it reminds me of Jeff Choquette.... when he switched from dirt to asphalt, he didn't even know WHO he had to beat... but he already knew HOW too.

        Tyler Dippel

Tyler Dippel cut his teeth racing dirt modifieds in New York. He practiced the Godfather Motorsports entry for several PASS South events last year before splitting with the team. Dippel teamed with Buggy Pletcher in the Mason Dixon Meltdown at Southern National Motorsports Park. He qualified in the top 10, was involved in an early accident and finished 22nd. I believe he is still teamed with Pletcher and is panning to race in the PASS Winter Meltdown at New Smyrna on February 8 and several other PASS South events in 2014.

Great race..lots of door to door slamming coming out of four..amazed it was as caution free as it was. Was very impressed w dippel. Figure the good wreck was just racin. I think it was the 33 Webster? Who was holding up good causing the whole thing..once dippel got there it was just hard racing..too bad was rooting for both to do well.

Great field..lots of solid rides and drivers!

OSF .. Your boy cope about screwed the pooch when he dumped the 6 then spun hisself out trying to miss the guy..either one (dumping him or spinning out) COULD have sent him to the back but both should have. Oh well..he was the fastest and probably deserved the win..Keene took off like a rocket around lap 65 and was eating up the field, too little too late.

Garvey looked solid too. Hope he comes around more.

Pro lates were good but not great. I really liked the 88 garret jones? Sharp looking car..metallic blue wheels looked slick. He was fast too coming from back..guess why - no qualifying! Made it interesting.

NSS..it was 38 degrees do we really need a fugging intermission and a 25 lap 4 cylinder race?

Really excited about pass race and speed weeks after these last two 100 lappers!

Dippel was amazing. Looking forward to seeing more of this kid.

Agree with Bubba... Cope should've gone to the rear.

Intermission? Are you kidding me? That was the bonehead move of the night.

Glad Burton was ok. That wreck looked scary....

Cool to see Garvey muscling his way to the front.

Dippel was worth the $20 ticket alone !! Great show. Well done New Smyrna, well done.
The group I was with ( 118, and Cake among others) easily dropped $200 in tickets food and drink combined. ALL OF US HAD OTHER PLANS......until Kim posted the entry list on this board. Hope it was on the web site too. Information is king.

They have a move over flag for a reason, everytime Cope went to go to the out side the 6 came up to block, I don't think he ment to dump him just move him Travis doesn't drive that way. NSS made the right call.

                  funny

For someone that doesn't drive like that....that's the second time I've seen him run over a lapped car in the last 2 races...with a 3/4 or more straight away lead. Pushed a lapped car all the way down the front straight 2 weeks ago, had a full straight away lead...

I like travis, he had everyone covered and almost gave it away unnecesarily. Had a half straightaway lead or more at that point. He was just frustrated is my gues but shoulda been more patient.

How patient do you have to be, most of the lapped cars would not move over, even top drivers, and they would have not liked it if it was them being hold up.

If you are getting laped you need to let the leader go or hold on tight.
It is easer to move over than fix a wrecked car.
No good official will ever put u to the rear for a lap car if you give him a chance to move.
You know the spotter is telling the driver the leader is coming.
If the leader dumps you and he gets buy that is one thing. If he doesent then he is mad at you also. just let him go. next time when you need a break you might get one.

Has to be a pretty stupid mf'r to not let someone go by when you're about to be lapped. What's he think the car is all of a sudden gonna "come in" and he's gonna catch up? Dumbass..

Dippel and Keene stole the show in my opinion. keene working through the pack was great, like to see more of that instead of the same ol people running up front for the whole race. Cope is always fast, but he should have went to the rear. it would be so much better for the fans to start the top runners in the back, and would help separate the racers from the ones with the most $$.
