Bubba Raceway Park - Sat 1-4-14 - Hangover Special

Well changed things up a little this year and hit the dirt at Bubba this past Saturday for the Hangover Races. Pretty good show on this cold Saturday night. 13 mods,8 Limited Lates, 22 Hobby Stocks and 34 Thunder Stocks. The night was designed to showcase the support divisions and the cars turned out in force for the night's action. The mods were won by Kyle Bronson, Snyder second & Crouse 3rd. Limiteds went to Dalton Myers, Tyler Clem 2nd, and Shan Smith in 3rd. Both of these divisions had some super racing in their heats and the mains were good as well. They both ran 25 lappers. 34 Thunder Stocks V8 ran 4 heats and two b consi's to qualify 24 cars for the feature. Some really good racing in the heats as well. 50 lap feature went to Michael Stalnaker, Tommy Hill second, and Justin Durbin home with a third. Hobby Stocks perhaps had one of the best races of the night in their 50 lapper as #12 Donnie Ashford took the lead around lap 45 when then leader #9 Morgan had to retire with problems. Dennis Williams was 2nd and John tim Powers was 3rd. The night had plenty of three wide action and plenty of passing to watch. Track was rough but the drivers all adapted very well and put on one heck of a show. The fourth heat (thunder) of the night had a very fired up #1 becoming pissed at the #11. The #11 had parked in the infield and #1 decided to drive right to the X and hit the #11 headon in a real wild move by an upset driver. Of course dq'd. Much more action during the night as well. Hope the track's article comes out soon so I can read more about this night. Good crowd on hand as well. Great start to the 2014 season...
