In talking to Joe Harris Saturday at New Smyrna, he had just gotten to the track after attending the funeral for Billy Gunn who apparently took his own life the day after Christmas... Billy ran the Harris-built #13 Modified at Orlando SpeedWorld and some at New Smyrna for several years and won quite a few races... When he showed up, he was one of the guys to beat... I gave him the "Wild Bill" moniker which he always liked... So sad...

Wild Bill sure wasn't afraid of the outside lane at OSW. Seemed like if he was stuck on the outside, he could pass anyone. Then he would drop down to the inside & run slower. Either the car or driver loved running the top lane.
Shame to hear this about Bill. He was fun to watch. -
