Overall great field and crowd. Seemed to be quite a few guys there getting tuned up for speedweeks. Glad to see Frank Kreyer make the haul again after his gov cup fire.

Cope and Keene seemed to be the class of the field and checked out early. Rogers and Russell were fun to watch coming thru from poor qualifying efforts. Rogers got to second and a late cut tire took him out. Keene ended up dumping Russell late as well, following a poor restart.

Only wheel Cope put wrong was his victory donut into the pit wall. Was pretty funny.

Sportsmen were a great show! They mustve drawn for positions or something because the first 10 or so laps were crazy good. I sure missed qualifying though Lots of three and four wide passing. I hope this class grows and runs on a consistent basis. They look fast sitting still and a little contact doesn't seem to ruin them either. I think they started about 20 of them.

Overall well worth the $15 (plus convenience fee online) to get in.

Agreed, the sportsman race was a sight to behold. They had a full field of cars and a dense traffic jam for the first 6 laps. Why? There were slower cars starting at the front and the faster ones had to pass them. Old school! It was great; like going back in time.

This was the first time I'd sat in the stands and could notice the new lighting. To tell the truth, I didn't notice much difference from the infield or from the track surface, BUT FROM THE STANDS....WOW! That track looks great.

Mr. Cope dominated an entertaining SLM race after starting third. I think he was fast enough to have won from much further back. This highlights the problem with starting the fast timer too close to the front.

      But still,

But still, no one can see what paying the Sportsman cars a little
more can do for them. Wow. Add $200. to win, bringing it up to the GRAND TOTAL of $600. and now you are showing a little respect to the guys. In return, they show up 21 strong. WAKE UP,GET OFF THE MONEY. You will have a show again. Start the slower cars up front, give the fans the show that will bring them back again and again. By the way,Great job Drivers and NSS gang. Lets keep this going in 2014, Kim you know that you can do it,but only if you want to!

Awesome field for the Sportsman support race. Nobody even mentioned the extra $, or race for that matter, here. Hey VOICEOFNSS, any chance of posting the Sportsman results when you have a chance? I'd like to see who competed and if it's the usual suspects or if people are bringing out old cars and fielding new ones (good signs for the coming year). Hmm, 21 cars with the field mixed up and it wasn't a wreckfest...

The transformation that has happened at New Smyrna is impressive. It was only a year and a half ago that car and fan counts were meager and some were suggesting ditching the weekly program for "Specials Only" shows.
Nice job to the NSS management. They seem very determined to be successful.

                and now.....

and now if we could just get rid of the small cluches, the field would be a lot better. Adding 50lbs is for one, is a joke. If you sat in the stands in 1, you would hear the front 4 cars breaking up before the turn, but they where like rockets off the corner. The rest of the field where still diging all the way to the turn and ran well togather

Thanks TCCAZ! Wow, I only recognize half of the names in the Sportsman field, should be a great year if they continue to come out. The Sportsman 50 at the World Series should be one hell of a race!

It was a fun night though a bit chilly, but, it's January and below zero up north so guess we can't complain... Saw a lot of folks there and had a great time shooting the bull with everybody... even saw Frankie Grill in attendance.. Races were pretty entertaining and good fields with the exception of the E-Mods... Strictly Stocks had only a few too but their opening few laps was the best racing of the night... Hope the teams will really come out and support the Pete Orr Memorial in a couple weeks... would be cool to see a 30+ car field for that one....
