Sad news, Carl Mobley passed away today!

Carl Mobley, aka "Cap'n Viedo", passed away at his home in Orlando today. Carl used to viedo the races at OSW and NSS. He would edit a highlight tape for Buddy Pitman to show on his Sunday night sports show. Carl would spend the week after NSS Speedweeks making and sending tapes to racers and fans all over the USA and Canada. "Cap'n Video" will be missed by his many friends in racing!

This is so sad but not unexpected... Carl was a super guy and one of my best friends while he worked at OSW and NSS... He and his son were quite a team but he lost his boy unexpectedly to a brain aneurism several years ago... That really devastated him but his racing family stood by him and he continued on by himself... I remember the night Dale Mixon flipped into his turn one stand but he just kept on shooting! He did so much to help guys out with video and never asked much for it... Those end of the year tapes were awesome and I'm glad a had a chance to work with him putting together a couple of them... RIP my friend...
