  • CleanUp/Paint Party

Attention Drivers, Fans and Friends of Citrus County Speedway - We are having a "painting party" as part of our mission to improve the track and we need your help. We will be painting on December 7th and 8th, December 14th and 15th and if needed December 21st and 22nd and we're looking for volunteers to help. We will start at 9am each day. If anyone can lend us power washers, tools, etc. let us know. If we can get a large group together we may be able to finish in the first weekend. We will provide food to all volunteers and it should be a fun time. We are dedicated to making this track great again and hope that we can count on the support from this great community. Contact us at 352-726-9339 to let us know how you can help. Your support of the track is greatly appreciated and is what will help us to keep growing and improving.

Yea ... You would think if your volunteering your time, tools and labor for the day. They could at least give you a complimentary admission ticket.

I think the hardest day I ever spent was volunteering at Hialeah Speedway 20 years ago. Me and a few others had chainsaws, and we cut, cleared and hauled brush all along the backstraight and turn 3. I went home and fell in bed.....at 6!

Remember, Hialeah was owned and operated by a club, so we should have all pitched in.

                    Tires

Are the SS/PS tires going to be available? some of us have a long way to travel it would be nice to to take out a flock with one stone.

Obviously some people don't know what the term VOLUNTEER means, it means to provide a service without EXPECTING compensation. You can go to a run down hole like lake city or you help spiff the place up a little like Desoto.

That's got to be one of the funniest quotes I've seen in a long time. You're absolutely correct, some people don't understand a volunteers role.

You don't know me but let me just say that there are plenty of people still fully involved with racing and do give a s%#$ what happens in the present. When sunshine closed a group of us helped pull the bleachers to go to Punta gorda....................And when ShowTime reopened my entire crew showed up the day before and mowed and weed eated the entire place..........It was a mess. I pulled glass out of my legs a couple days later from all the crap on the ground from weed eating. We supplied all the equipment/gas/and weed killer. We didn't ask nor did we want anything in return.............except a place to race. The sport is not dead even if people think it is. I think some of you old dogs that know the rite way should help with a little promotion and give some good advise to keep our sport alive......JMO.........D.Miller
