Here's an update, I met with the traumatologist today and I will be having surgery on Friday. The talus "the ankle bone" (the bone that enables a person to walk and maintain balance and also helps in the movements of the ankle) was snapped in half, along with some other bones that were shattered. The talus is deficient in its supply of oxygenated blood and when damaged the blood supply also becomes damaged which can result in the bone dying. The doctor said he will not be able to see how the blood supply is until the surgery. The doctor will be putting it back together will plates and screws. Sorry for the long status, but a lot were wanting to know details so I just wanted to let everyone know!

This looks like it could be pretty serious so please pray for her...

I have a friend (Buford Clonts for those who remember) that had a very similar injury many years ago(alligator crushed it and destroyed his ankle) and he is good. Only thing he lost was the movement of the ankle. But that just made him mash the gas pedal a little harder when he raced. Best Wishes and keep racing when you Get Well.
