My sources are telling me, that Kyle Larson will be replacing Jeff Gordon in the #24, in 2015. Apparently Gordon will be retiring after the 2014 season, and Mr Hendrick has tapped Kyle Larson as the heir apparent. A deal has been worked out with Ganassi Racing, that will have Hendrick providing engines in 2014 to the team. Time will tell if this rumor is for real, we'll see.

Rick Hendricks is a MASTER at putting the right people together, and providing all the right tools to make things work.
THE 2 hottest prospects right now are Elliott & Larson. Gordon isn't going to keep going forever, JR hasn't really gotten the job done (and I think sponsorships are running thin for a guy that isn't winning), and Kasey Kahne is kinda safe for a year or 2
He ain't letting Jimmy Johnson go ANYWHERE.....
Replacing 2 of the top stars that are on the downside, with the 2 most promising racers...... Brilliant move towards the future of HMS.
Not saying it will happen this way, but in the BIG picture, its a Dream Team...
Johnson, Kahne, Elliott, Larson....... there's a TON of talent in that group.

But we all have to be carefull.
How many times have we all said ''This kid...he is the next Jeff Gordon'', and it turned out to be average, under average, next to nothing to nothing at all.
Like I have often noticed and said, when these new kids climb the ladder in lower divisions, they are sitting in waaaaay better equipment than the majority of their competition which makes them look like super talented, BUT when they sit in the same buggy as everybody else, sometimes things change.
AND as we all have seen in all sports, when they finally sign that 62 gazillions $ contracts and turn into stars, racing becomes second and third on their priority list.
Not saying they are not talented, because they are. Just pointing facts. Better wait a little B4 starting to engrave the Cup at their repective names.André Fortin

I would almost bet my remaining life's earnings that Larson will win the cup in my lifetime. Have had the honor of announcing his first few races in Stock Cars, as well as Midgets and reported on him from the "battle" last year at Daytona... This kid is way more talented and accomplished than Logano (one of the original "next Jeff Gordons")Mark Keeler

Unless something happens, I don't see Larson NOT getting a cup championship. He's so good in anything he drives and has that "natural" talent that we don't often see.My photo site: http://www.rewingphotos.com

Larson
Mark, You need to get a hold of Dave Moody on Sirius/XM. He has said on a few different occasions that Larson had not even set in a Stock Car prior to the Bumble at the Beach. I know that and you know that he has. He was in Russell's car. Tried to get through to correct him but could not. He is kinda arrogant so he'll probably deny it as he thinks Larson is a Wonder Boy. Although he is good.

And he WON that night.
It might be a very minor detail, but in a way, Moody IS correct (depending on his wording). The Battle WAS the first time he had ever driven a "Late Model Stock" car. It is the official designation of a style of car popular in the Carolina's & Virginia. They aren't Super Lates, or even Pro Lates, they are their own division.
It's nit-picky.... but 'technically' correct.

The phrase should really be " the next Tony Stewart ". Tony's overall racing stats outshine Gordon's.
On a related topic, I think I remember hearing that Jeff Choquette had never driven an asphalt car before winning the Red Eye at NSS years ago. He's another guy that looked like he was going to the top but his career seems to have stalled.
