also many have been calling for hotel/motel numbers.
there are many around but here are 2 that
(are the least expensive as you asked)

Days inn exit 220 49.99 plus tax for 2 beds 941-746-2505

    Motel 6 45.99 plus tax for 2 beds 941-747-6005
tell them you are going to the race track.
there are more around that cost more, and very nice?

That very last line got me...... 'Rain date, if needed, Nov 23rd'.

Why NOT the next day? There are a lot of racers and, I assume, fans that are coming a long way to attend this. Why send everyone home, and HOPE they come back?

I'm trying to come to this, and I'd be much more inclined if I thought that I'd see a race, even if it were for a 1 day delay. I'd have to think twice if the weather looked even a little 'iffy'..... and I damn sure wont travel that far twice.

This isn't just a 'regular' show. A lot of people are planning a long trip to support this.... don't send them home empty handed.

This is a BIG show.... treat it that way...!

I just checked the forcast for Saturday. 50% morning,20% afternoon and evening. 0% on Sunday.

Not at all trying to be a douche about this, but it makes much more sense to try twice, consecutively, than a complete re-scheduling.

You might be better off with mentality that 'we will try everything in our power to make it happen', than it does 'see y'all in 2 weeks'.

As a fan, I won't travel TWICE, just becaus it was given up easy the first time.

I don't live anywhere CLOSE to there, more like a 5 hour round-trip. You think I'd do that TWICE, rather than sleep in the car and stay an extra night?

Not a CHANCE of that happening.

                  sat night racing

I am at any given track in the state every Sat. night, I dont like Sunday races, and I dont sleep in my car. Sunday is my hang with the family day...Just my two cents, Vince Patola

Jeez it's florida, It can rain anywhere, anytime. The forcast I just looked at shows the rain gone by noon sat, it is what it is, we cannot control the weather, and it won't be the first time the weatherman has been full of s t , so get you're buts off the couch and come on down to Desoto speedway and support the biggest mod race of the year,

When it comes to a 'regional' event, rather than a 'local' event, it makes MUCH more sense.

Most of the long-haulers would much rather stay over, if needed, rather than the HUGE expense of coming back another time. Even as a fan with far less expense than any team, it helps make it much more attractive.

I'm trying to balance spending some time with my sister (50th birthday... a milestone), and heading south early enough to make it there.

This decision made me want to weasel my plans around to go to Desoto.
