Nascar's Coulter, Bodine to compete in Charity 200 Race Weekend Pro-Truck event !
Orlando FL. 11-4-2013 - Event promoter and foundation director, Rick Bristol announced today that several firsts will happen this year at the 8th Annual Joey Coulter Charity 200 Race Weekend. The first Nascar drivers will take part in the race. The event has had visits from Nascar drivers such as David Reutimann, and David Starr and for autograph sessions, and Joey Coulter partnered with Rick Bristol these last two years, but this will be the first time Joey will compete in the race his self. Joey and his father Joe have fielded a truck in every years event, but Joey did not drive in it. Joey's guest will be former Nascar Truck Series Champion Todd Bodine and he to will be in a truck for this years version of the Pro-Truck 100.
" I am so excited to have Joey and Todd racing in the event. This gives the top Pro-Truck drivers in this state a chance to rub doors with a couple Nascar guys, wow I am thinking about entering a truck myself now". stated Bristol. "Each year we try to improve this thing, with a focus on being able to help more kids and families facing terminal illness. Joey has become such a great friend and I am honored to have him as a partner in this deal. I met Todd at Bristol while cooking for them, and Joey said to him, you ought to come down and Todd said we may, now he will not just be there, but racing". added Bristol.
" I am excited to finally get to race in this event, it has been an event that my dad and our family has believed in and sponsored each year. We have had a driver in each of the events to date in one of our trucks, but now I will be able to say I raced in it, and that is cool. I asked Todd Bodine about coming and he said yes and now we have worked out a way for him to race in it as well and this helps Rick, myself and the foundation to add prestige and credibility to the event. A former Nascar Champion racing in our event, that is also very cool" said Nascar Camping World Truck Series driver Joey Coulter.
The event also has added another first a VIP hospitality tent for sponsors and radio contests winners with food and a chance to meet with Joey and Todd in a personal meet & greet time. There will also be a first of fireworks at the event coinciding with the opening ceremonies and the conclusion of the truck race. Tempest Cycles, one of Joey's Nascar Truck sponsors, is returning with a special designed Joey Coulter Charity 200 Motorcycle to be raffled off leading up to and at the event with all proceeds being donated to the the kids and families the event helps this year.
This years event is sponsored again by some great people and companies that have been supporting for many years. Aaron's, Blackwater Integration and Florida Suncoast Unclaimed Freight Sales are each $5,000 title sponsors of the event again this year and are so appreciated for there support. Fellows Truck Brokers, Coulter Motorsports and the Les & Judy Smout Foundation each helped sponsor $3,000 for the event. Orlando Dodge returns as the program and event t-shirt sponsor for $1200. First year sponsors joining us this year are Curry's Roofing, sponsoring and cooking our pit thank you BBQ Friday night starting at 9 p.m. Also joining for the first time Southern Air Compressor Service Inc. and they have sponsored $1000 in awards for the trucks & modified races. Webb's Commercial Services returns for there 8th event, sponsoring $500 this year on the Bomber 30 lap race. Racecar Engineering will once again do certificate awards for the racing events and Hoosier Tire gave away 3 free tires for an early pre-entry drawing. Two days of racing for a great cause presented by Fellows Truck Brokers Inc. , Friday night December 13th a live remote with 97.5 WPCV from 5-8 and qualifying for Trucks, Modifieds and Modified Mini-stocks, DAARA Antiques, Champ Karts and a 40 Lap Modified Mini-stock 40 Lap event and just $5 grandstand admission with kids 12 & under FREE !
Saturday will have a Autograph session on track beginning at 5:30, Pre-Race Ceremonies, Truck driver introductions at 6:30 and racing starting at 7 p.m. Pro-Trucks going 100 laps, Champ karts 25 Laps, Modifieds doing 50 laps and a wild Bomber 30 lapper ends the night of racing. Lucky Dog from Aaron's will be on hand for the kids and there is always raffle prizes, 50/50 raffle, programs and event t-shirts on sale again the proceeds all help the families. There will also be a silent auction room for you to try to get some really great items and help the cause as well.

A couple things still needed are a trophy sponsor $750 and we have laps being sold for the 100 lap truck race for $40 each, the 50 lap modified race and the 40 lap modified mini-stock race. The lap proceeds go directly to the families before the gates are even opened. If all laps are sold that is $3,800 ! December 13th & 14th at Auburndale Speedway drivers, crews, volunteer officials, fans, family and friends converge with a purpose, a cause to help those who are battling for, what we all hold dear, life. Racers are racers, but when we gather for this we gather not to win races, but to try help those we help win their battle. There will be winners who stand in victory lane with a trophy and the checkered flag, but on this weekend all who gather, all who have a heart to help and those we help are the biggest winners !
