According to the press release listed further down the page, Jimmy Cope is not even mentioned. Mike Chase stays on, Kevin Williams hits the road, Denny Meyer is the new GM, and Rick Anges replaces Jason Beckner as announcer.

Whoever you "heard it from", is not reliable.....

I can only state what I heard, it is what it is, we will know for sure when we show up to race. Either way I am just happy its still open.

              We can only hope

That a man like Jimmy would be involved with any race track. The man is a legend in this sport. Along with critter they would be a force in Florida racing.

                I agree!

One thing I really do miss is the days when Jimmy and Dave were racing on the same track. Jimmy was one of my favorite "bad boys"... lol still is! As for Critter... I have nothing but good things to say! I am excited about seeing them at Desoto Speedway!

Hay frass what's up, I think you owe mod 8 a mulligan, seems his info was correct, From what I saw as a spectater sat night Daddy cope was calling the shots, Just saying, and there was someone else that stated that the SHIP was headed in a different direction, time will tell, but from what I saw sat night that boat is already on a PLANE. Look forward to working with the new team next sat night for the EBR race, A lot of YALL should try and come on down, it'S AN AWESOME DEAL

I guess I'll have to eat my words. I was going by the press release that mentioned several things, but Cope being involved wasn't mentioned.

If its true, why would they keep that a secret? It's a great selling point, as there's a lot of people that believe in Jimmy's knowledge and experience.

                          SELL that point..... !!

                            Jimmy Cope

Spoke with Jimmy briefly last night. Congratulated him and told him to please bring some good racing back to that place. He said we are working hard on it. I have all the faith in Jimmy. His contacts are very deep in racing and he is a good business man as well as one of the best drivers ever. Jimmy is a racer so that should bode well for making it a racers track. Hopefully he will work with the other tracks and not against each other. Looking forward to next year @ Desoto Speedway.
