Joey "The Ace" Aguilar! I am so thankful to God for watching over my dear friend Joey last night. As you know, his car caught fire and Joey luckily was able to exit the car and tried rolling in the grass to stop the flames. According to Joey, the staff at FTS, the heli operators, EMS, and hospital staff did a great job. Thats from the horses mouth. He really doesnt want to hear anyone bashing the very people who saved his life. ;-)We agree that every single race track should have periodic safety meetings with qualified trainers to learn how to handle the many different kinds of fires and emergencies that can happen at a race track. Today Joey and his wife have had nearly 1000 messages from people all over wishing him well and he is overwhelmed with all the caring people have shown. God bless you Joey. Love you so much and so thankful you will be back in the seat soon.

Forgot to mention... Joey had some "flash" burns on his legs but his hands got the worse burns. Yes, he had on fire gloves! The fire was just so hot ... Hospital staff taught his wife how to care for him so he doesnt get infections. I would not doubt he will be racing by next month.
