  • Gov. Cup Good Show!!!!!

How about some positive posts about florida racing.
Excellent racing, great field of cars, good crowd, Awesome payouts $$$$$.
The new lights are awesome at NSS.

I only saw one real bonehead move. JVD #81 gets the award for flat wiping out Stephen Nasse #51. Hated to see that #51 Nasse get knocked out like that he had a great car definitely a contender for the win.

Best wishes for Ricky Brooks hope you have a speedy recovery, I hate to see something like that happen.

Congratulations Daniel Keene Jr. #5 Pro Late Model winner.
Congrats Augie and Frankie Grill #112 Gov Cup winner.

    Jvd

He is a great driver but I think that's two dumb moves in two races. I think he took out Timmy Russell last year early in the race. Overall great race, as was the modified race had a blast.

Good crowd? I'd say GREAT CROWD! The place was almost completely full! I've never seen NSS with so many people in the granstands. As for Van Doorn, he should just stay in Michigan. His bonehead move cheated the fans out of the incredible duel between Nasse and Grill. The restarts between those two early in the event were awesome as one tried to clear the other. The two put on a clinic on car control. It was only when Grill pitted for tires that put Johnny "Dangerously" up there to begin with. The stupid thing is the restart before he did almost exactly the same move. Spin the tires on the start then try to drive the car under Nasse like 10 men going into one and slide up the track out of control. The second time he didn't get away with it and wrecked Nasse HARD. No doubt, that car needs a rear clip. He deserved waaaaaaaay better than that.

Great crowd saturday! Great big race atmosphere. Van Doorn slipped and took out nasse felt bad for nasse he was the only one that could touch grill. Last yr Augie slid into him and cut his tire taking him out of it. He's a good guy and a great driver, I for one want him back down here.

The prerace was much improved and moved right along, I was amazed and quite happy with the timeliness of the show..moved along and started right when it should.

Man this restart deal needs to be rethought. Labbe and the modified guy the night before got a screw job for his early start. Yes I know he jumped and that was the rule but that is an excessive penalty.. Why not give them one do over before dropping the hammer? Throw the yellow and try it again or make him give up the lead or something but the drive thru is a killer. The stuff with the impound I am fine with, as well as the pit penalties. I did feel like the jvd one was out of spite, given the circumstances of him already on pit road when the red flew, they should have told them to stop working. They are gonna lose some of these guys w this stuff.

I did like the fire equipment they brought over after the fire in practice. That was a nice touch and I wish it got more attention than it did.

I was bummed when choquette and Rogers wrecked out. Two of my favorites out early.

Augie drove the hell out of his ride coming thru the field, he earned every bit of it. He was the only guy I have seen lately with real drive on the bottom.

Overall, the show was great. Would like better car counts in pro lates and mods, maybe more promotion and higher overall purses would help who knows.

Now what's on the docket for speedweeks?

The SLM 200 race was great!

Was too bad so many good cars got knocked out early on, 51, 81, 26, 64, among others...

Grill in the 112 drove a great race, had the fastest car and had to work his way from the back for the win!

Sad to see the safety official get hurt but I guess it could have been worse...

The modified race was pretty boring, not enough competitive cars

I'm not sure how the 66 of Jerry Symons lost so much speed for the final 10 laps? I guess he burned up his tires trying to catch back up before the yellow?

Other than this I haven't heard anything about the modified race after the 200-

who won and what was the car count? there aren't any results from night 3 on the NSS website.

Unless there were any DQ's, The Kevyn Terry HTI team finished 1-2 with Tim Moore winning over Terry, Bubba Pollard and Symons...

Timmy Moore was DQ'ed, heard he was 16 LBS. under weight on the scales.

So, does that give the win to Kevyn Terry?

If so, its a great story, as Kevyn personally put up last years $5K to win. For him to win $5K this year is a real nice Karma pay-back. He deserves a big win after all the support and money he's put into the Mod division.

SpeedNet indicates that Kevyn Terry was indeed the winner of the 200 lap modified race with Moore relegated to 23rd spot. Strange how one team car can be disqualified (Moore #13m) and the other car (#13 Terry passes.) Don't know why NSS has not posted the results not only from the Gov Cup races but also the Oct 12 show. Will they not be posting results to their web-site any longer ? Speed Net is very hard for me to read as well as bring up on my PC....
