my question remains- why can't Ellisville pull any cars?

I'm sure there are many reasons.....

BUT .... My biggest bitch with Florida racing is that EVERY track in the state is stuck on Saturdays nights only. There is already a much more successful & closer track to the Lake City population (NFS) that runs the same night.

There is NO SENSE in trying to run head to head with an already bigger following.

Work AROUND that..... have a few specials a year, on either a Friday or Sunday that encourages both competitors and fans out for something different. Its been very successful at some tracks around the country to invite the Dirt cars to a pavement race on occasion.

There's NO WAY it could hurt, with the support Ellisville gets with the way things are.

Roll the dice..... think outside the box..... is there anything I lose....?

Or possibly everything to gain.

Less than 10 minutes down the road too.. Always the biggest competition for Ellisville.
The Robert Fords are working with what they have. Great staff and clean facilities. Plenty of tires and fuel..

North Florida and S Ga have long been short on fields. The racing history for this area began as and continues to be on dirt. South Ga Motorsports park like Ellisville plays to short fields as well and this is one of the finest facilities east of the Mississippi River. Watermelon Speedway in Cordele does a little better but they are tied into a series. When you see their results you will seldom see many local names. Frasson has it right for Ellisville Friday Nights, but they will have to run a shorter season because high school football is king of Friday nights. Sundays do not do ell in the Bible Belt either.season

It looks like there just are not as many asphalt racers around anymore in North Florida and South GA. I guess you'd have to do a head count, but it seems like a good deal of them have switched to dirt. To the north, Albany went to dirt a few years ago, and maybe some of those guys went dirt as well. If so, Ellisville lost potential racers from that track. Ocala went dirt, so Ellisville could of lost racers from there as well. And with South GA running a few races one year, half a season the next, etc, some guys might have said screw it and gone to dirt.

Great point about switching to Friday. You never know, some of the guys racing at North FL could also have an asphalt car in their garages, and would love the idea of hitting both tracks in the same weekend. And what is that track just south of Elilisvlle? Does it exist or is that just a rumor?!!... it hurts to admit but running on the same night can't help Ellisville's car count.
