Here we go already with 'depending on car count' purses.

Gary..... surely you can guarantee the whopping $400 you're posting for winners, without having it contingent on 36 cars showing up (20 in one class, 16 in the other).

If you get 1/2 of those amounts, its almost a home-run. To get 36 is a pipe dream, and everyone knows that.

Don't play games with the purse.... it ain't gonna break you to guarantee $400, but it COULD break you if you create an atmosphere of mis-trust among the racers.

I had this conversation with Gary the other night. All racers need to know what the pay is before they leave their house. If not enough cars show up, you cant punish the ones that do come... He asked me "if I pay a $1000 to win and only 6 cars show up, is that fair to the track"? I said "the guys who are there did their part, they bought tires, fuel, pit passes, concession food, is it fair to them to cut their purse, or make them gamble on other competitors showing up?" Tracks need to realize its up to them to PROMOTE and schedule races in a manner that will bring in cars and fans. When they have a really good car and fan count are they going to cut our tire bill? What if the racers said "hey, there's 20 cars here so we're not paying full price for admission tonight".

Also, we noticed the tow money is $30. Does that mean the pit gate is going up another $5? If that's the case, look at the pits and ask yourself next week how many of those racers (assuming a family of 4) have an extra $240 a month just to walk into your gate and race twice a month..

          Mike

No the pit gate is not going up to $30.00 this year
Everyone just jumps and make statement to start romors before asking what is what. Please dont try to read my mind on what I am thinking or going to do just ask frist please.

I was trying to be nice and give back to the racers some on the back side of the pauses. Maybe it does not pay to be nice=

Gary I was just asking. The statements I made about $240 a month was more so directed to the other tracks charging that much. I'm hoping they will read that and look at it from the racers prospective. If costs keep getting passed directly to the pit side, racing as we know it will be extinct in a few years. Just not enough people coming in to replace those leaving.
