  • Three Palm Speedway

I was just wondering if anyone has been past the old Charlotte County Speedway lately and seen if anything has been fixed or replaces since it has been leased. Man I still can't believe how Williams raped that place, just don't seem right to me, but I guess it was all legal. I live in the far south end of Ft. Myers and just wondered if anyone knew or seen anything going on at the track. Wife and I really miss the Saturday nights at the race track and can't wait for it to open. Thanks Rick

Yea, I was wondering the same thing the other day. I wonder why they don't get on here and at least update people, as for all of us aren't on Facebook. As for Kevin, It is really ashame what he did ,but what comes around goes around. I did find out how the new owners came up with the name of Three Palms Speedway.... That's all that Kevin left on the property was three palm trees .... Ha ha ha

I'm surprised not one person has seen or heard anything about the old Charlotte county Speedway, I guess nothing happening yet. If anyone rides past, sure would like to know if anything has been started to get the track back to racing again. I guess one Saturday I will take a ride and go see for myself, was just trying to save a 37 mile ride well I guess it is 74 round trip.

Thanks, I don't do the facebook thing so I guess when they get close to openning they will hopefully post on Karnac. It's surprising to me that all the tracks don't use this great racing site to promote their track.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO "DO" FACEBOOK TO READ THEIR FACEBOOK POSTS. Click on the posted link, bookmark it, and check it before heading to the track.

"Here ya go everyone, our first event at the track. Next Saturday October the 19th, from 10 a.m till 2 p.m. we will be having go-kart practice. It is $20 per cart and FREE to spectate. Then on Sunday the 20th we will be hosting Time Trials for all who want to come race around the track. Will be held from noon till 4 p.m. Must have helmet and bring a Street Legal car. This is going to be per lap prices. $5 for 2 laps and $10 for 6 laps. Spectating is free. Hope to see everyone out there."

                What Is That Crap?

GO karts and street cars?WHAT? Why not ground hogs and bandoleros?I drove by the old speedway in punta gorda friday on my way up to citrus county. The main drive in is roped off(but you could get around it if you choose to ignore the no trespassing signs-which i didnt.)From what i can see nothing has changed since the day Kevin W left the place with the exception of a banner being hung on the fence that says Three Palms Speedway. Now i get on here and read this crap about go carts and street cars?Good luck racing fans of southwest Florida in seeing anything like real racing happening there until at least spring if ever again.

Don't fear about the old raceway, she'll be right up and fine, in time. It'll all be OK in a short time.

Rumor has it, that the old Daytona Backstretch Grandstands are being removed.
They're going to be gone soon, I've been told. Totally removed altogether.

And the old Punta Gorda Raceway is going to need some new Stands.

Just an attempt to put two-and-two together. Massive they would be, wouldn't that be great!

                  j/k

                    An update on the track

It seems that many of you on here have opinions about what we should and shouldn't be doing out at the track. As some of you know we have numerous things that needed to be fixed not to mention starting the entire business aspect of running the track from the ground up without an information from the previous operators. Anyone that went by the track 2 or 3 months ago and has come back recently and says that nothing has been done must be blind or just not paying attention. So here is where the track currently stands for those that are interested.

                    1. The majority of the catch fence and support poles that need to be replaced have been removed and we are waiting on the delivery of the new fence and poles that will be installed at the track.

                    2. We have secured a deal with an Indiana firm for replacement bleachers that will seat 4,000 people in the space that we have available at the track. Currently they are being removed from their current venue and will be shipped to us from Georgia once they have been removed and made ready to ship.

                    3. We have purchased some of the concession stand equipment and we have more coming in the next couple of weeks that will complete the concession stands equipment needs. We do have some repair work to do in the stand as well with some painting to be done.

                    4. We are currently working on getting the walls ready to be painted which should happen in the next week or two as well as the other rooms and buildings ready to be painted as well. Some of the rooms need to be redone with sheetrock and electrical wiring to replace/repair damage that was done prior to our taking over the property.

                    5. We have repaired the majority of problems with the plumbing there but do have a couple more issues that need to be resolved prior to our opening night.

                    6. This weekend we will be having the fan safety rails repaired and welded back into place again fixing the damage that was done.

                    7. We have been working with a local company on having the scoring box and buildings underneath it resided and will finalize that in the next few weeks as well.

                    8. We are currently finalizing our schedule and car/track rulesfor the 2014 season and will be posting those on your web site shortly.

I could go on and on with the list of things that we have fixed, repaired, bought new, etc but you would all get bored with it very quickly. We have been negotiating contracts with vendors and sponsors for the upcoming season trying to put together the best deals possible so that we can make our products cost effective for not only the fans but drivers as well. We have been working very hard in trying to put together the best deal possible for gas and tires as well as having racing parts available on race nights. We have not been posting on here because in all honesty we are not interested in being a part of the drama that some like to create on this site. I am more than happy to answer any questions people have about the track and the process we are going through in getting it ready to begin racing after the first of the year. So if you have a question about our track please come to the source and I will answer it for all to read. We started out with opening the track to the go karts and to some of the car clubs that wanted to come in and turn a couple of laps with their cars. We did this because the track was not ready for race cars and we won't be rushed into doing something until we are ready. Just like now where we are having some of the classes of cars come in for some controlled practice time but not all of the classes can come because we aren't ready for everyone. When we are we will open it up to all. So instead of making a decision on what has been done from what you can see from the road makes absolutely no sense since you can't see anything on the track and the majority of the buidlings from there. We have an open door policy so feel free to stop and come on in and take a look around and get a better idea of all the work that has been done to this point in trying to bring back racing to our area.

Well thank you for giving the people of Southwest Florida a place to race and spectate. We are all aware of how the criminal Kevin Williams left the place, because HE had a ax to grind with with the Punta Gorda Airport, all he did was spit in the face of all the racing fans in this area. And I'm sure you will get most of the cars back that went north, once the points end up there. It looks like they have already self destructed up there. I will spend my Saturday nights with you guys once you get up and running. Thanks again for taking the track over and hopefully making it the best track in the state of Fla.

This guy has a well thought out plan...
To heck with the naysayers and whiners (I don't mean the Andretti's! ) You are the one with the money and investment and it's your gig.
Build it right and they will come.
                        Good Luck to Three Palms!

We do appreciate your support and hope that everyone will come and check us out when we re-open. You will see a different show than what has been there in the past and we believe that most people will truly enjoy themselves. We love the area and the fan base here is terrific and we look forward to being here for a long time. Jamie Haase
