GREAT racing last night in every class! Been a couple of years but I was glad I made the trip to see the sprints because all the other classes put on a great show as well.

Agreed 100 per cent. Very good racing in all divisions last night at the half miler. The move by Dave Steele in the #33 sprinter ,passing two sprinters in turn one, on the lap 5/26 restart giving him the win was spectacular. #11 ,The Ace said his car sputtered which allowed Steele to pass. Adema was the other car which Steele passed in turn one. The E-Mods had one of the best battles I have seen in their division. Great race between Garver #27 & Korpi #16 all the way. Passing and chrome horning filled the race with excitement. The Supers had a fantastic 3 way battle between #127 Booth, #20 Sergi & #11 Rogers through the first ten laps. Rogers and Sergi touched going into one and #20 Sergi went for a violent ride into the first turn fencing ending up on his side after taking down quite a bit of the catch fence in turn. Sergi was okay! After the fans were re-located and the fence area cleaned up, the race continued with Rogers putting pressure on Booth all the way. Lap after lap of tight close competitive clean racing made for an outstanding 35 lapper. Mini's, Supers and Strictlys also had a good night. Super glad I attended. The $7.00 chicken sandwich special which included fries and a drink were a great treat as well. Large crowd attended the races. Thanks for the early result posting. Good work NSS.....

I was looking dead at the Sergi/Rogers deal and in the old days I woulda said it was all Rogers. But in todays world of spotters and such I'd say it was 50/50. Rogers had been working the hi side so maybe Sergi shoulda gave him more room but I'm sure if I was Sergi I'd say Rogers wasn't "there" far enough and when Sergi moved out to the wall off 4 Rogers hooked him. Rogers definitely had a choice to make, either Sergi or the wall and you know who got the vote. It was a wild one...haven't seen one like in a few.
And yeah, the modified race was killer.

If the spotters are going to tell a driver to block, then he will get what he needs. FLYING LESSONS...LoL....LoL. If you cant use the spotters right, they could take them away like some other tracks have done in the past

i prefer not having a spotter, id rather use the shiny pieces of glass that i have clamped to the rollbars
lets all take a long ride on a short bus.

I quit fishing because no one was standing at the docks handing out money when i got back, why did you quit racing?

Last i checked a spotter is lacking a steering wheel so its still up to the drivers on what they wanna do

I grew up in an era that didn't use mirrors or radios (that actually hasn't been invented yet) and those guys drove with LOT more respect than now. Sprint cars do it. Dirt LM drivers do it. The DIRT Mod guys do it. The Supermodifieds do it.......

But now, most racers at the local level depend on that radio communication, that bug in the ear that tells them what to do.

I much more respect a racer that does it 100% on their OWN. Not a spotter, not a team strategy..... just a racer alone figuring out how to beat the guy ahead of him.

Once the driver is on the track, it should be him, and him alone.

Mirrors, radios, and spotters, I place a lot of blame on for the demise of asphalt racing.

It doesn't come into play nearly as much on dirt, but asphalt, its the shitty part of 'the way it is now'.

Jerry. Dirt tracks, and some asphalt, require 'raceivers' that allow the tower to tell drivers their position for re-starts. They also are first to say 'yellow' before you can even see a light. These are receivers only.
I use a scanner at NSS tuned to the tower and it has come in very handy for restarts and early yellow alerts. I use my mirror rarely because the wall comes up real fast if your concentration is interrupted by a mirror. My side mirror is to see the inside line for a car trying to get position. If he is not in the mirror,he doesn't have the line..
Just a drivers point of view here..
                    -JIM-
RIP Jack Smith and Kim Brown. Many thanks for all you have done for our sport.

I like Raceivers a lot. It helps with safety and efficiency, which I'm all for.

It's the 2-way communications that I hate. Blocking isn't racing.
