She certainly made a leap of faith. It sounds like Ms. Young is not too different from a lot of us: a life-long fan who wondered what it would be like in the track office instead of in the stands.

So she lives in NY but runs a track in Florida? I have to admit I'm puzzled by the investment and time spent on travel.

I've never been to Bronson, but I only hear how much fun the track surface is to race on. Hopefully business will pick up and it will stay alive!

The operation of that track seems to have a lot to be desired. But, she did hit on something..... she acknowledged that cutting the purse to the drivers was a suicide move. She understands that she lost a lot more money because of bad feelings and bad press, than it would have if she'd have just paid up. Her words were "I'll never do that again".

At least she understands, now, that it was a lousy thing to do, and it bit her in the ass.

Nope, she commutes to her job in the Hospital up there. That's one reason they race every other week..
Another thing not mentioned is her 'no return policy'. If you have to go to your car for a coat or diapers(or a few beers in Jerrys' case), you have to pay again... BAD POLICY..

No return policy = No reason to go policy.
            Rethink this Bronson.

              I completely agree.

Her cutting payouts due to lack of car count is not completely foreign. Her mistake was not posting it in advance. Payouts should be posted in advance and adjusted according to car counts.

                Bronson?

Thanks for the heads up guys, I was considering a trip up there, but now I won't even think about going to a track with such stoopid policies.

There is a web site, however, it is not updated very often. www.racebronson.wordpress.com
The last few months I have heard some radio spots in the Ocala area on a country music station.
Don't plan on siting in the pit area stands though.. They are gone.
Bring your own race fuel. She has never had any, but there is a gas station across the street...No race fuel there either..

Yup, she ran the feature first and then the heat for next weeks start for the feature. Nobody ran the heat and was confusing as to who started the rear next week.
Her comment was 'That's how it's done up North'... Nobody could find a track that did that ANYWHERE. Finally convinced her to race the 'normal' way at the start of her second season.
This news clip is actually a good explanation of how NOT to run a race track and listen to the locals who are respected by the drivers to put on a good show and create less drama..

Kinda like what happens to Gunnar,he messes up then comes up with a fantastic story to cover himself.(he's 8 years old)

I spoke with people that know her, and they don't think much of her either. I hear she isn't a very kind nurse either. And that her hubby and her are made for eachother. His racing is dirty.

I don't think that this is the place for personal attacks.
I have never talked to her gust on here and I think she tryes to do the right things but doesent know much about what se is doing.
looks like she has learned a lot of things the hard way.
